Bleeding Effect:
A term in Assassins Creed where you go in the Animus machine (Device that sends you back in time), and all the traits of past lives that you experience so vividly get gradually ingrained onto you, like the Matrix "I know kung fu...whoa."

yeah, if it was Tim as Robin, there would be no doubt. But as it is Dick, it just can't be. Jason would be so young and small, and not yet skilled enough to go toe to toe with all the Titans, and especially Dick yet like he does, and also he keeps calling Robin "Kid." As if he were older. He certainly acts t too, so...yeah it doesn't seem so Jason to me. (Then again Jason is older in this pic, but it could just be him multiverse hopping again, he did do that once)

ChasehaWing In reply to EdwardX1 [2014-09-30 13:13:37 +0000 UTC]
yeah, it just doesn't add up. Personally my head canon is that in this verse, Jason is being picked up by Bruce and is the robin of gotham and turning into Bruce's new partner, and Dick grayson TOTALLY resents him for it and can't believe Bruce is trying to replace him (Jason is stuck in the middle, poor thing.)
π: 0 β©: 1
EdwardX1 In reply to ChasehaWing [2014-09-30 21:48:06 +0000 UTC]
That's a bit out of Dick's character... He didn't resent Jason. Was a little jealous but quickly realized he's just still on bad terms with Bruce. He even tried to be Jason's big brother (giving him his number and everything). Jason resented him later on because everyone kept comparing the two. Then he resented Tim for replacing him. Then resented Dick again for getting to be Batman.
... Resentment is Jason's thing... until the New 52.
But yeah, he was caught in the middle of Dick and Bruce's little squabbles. It's what got in the way of Dick actually being there for Jason like he promised to do.
When Jason died. Dick and Bruce seemed to hate eachother even more... for a brief moment of grief anyway. Then made up because they realized life is too short.
Dick still loved Jason. Even dreaming about him in the No Man's Land arc.

I know that, bu this is a different world, different arc, and Dick can be pretty moody when he wants to be. Also its more that he's mad at bruce and doesn't know Jason, so he builds up this really bratty figure in his head from what he does know, mixed with his anger at bruce. If he actually met the kid, he'd like him fine (though he'd realise he is at least a little bit, a brat, but that comes with being a little brother ^^). Its just this is my head canon as the world as is, with minor comic book interference.

EdwardX1 In reply to ChasehaWing [2014-10-01 08:29:56 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah. In Teen Titans I always figured Dick just didn't care much about Jason. Like he was too caught up in trying to prive himself better off without Batman. And the other Titans saw Jason as a brat because of Dick's attitude. Which is why BB suggested Jason being Red X in the first place.
It should be noted that that episode aired before Under the Hood was published.

Very true, also even if it wasn't, there's a steep age gap between the two, even modified I think the closest they got age wise around was 3 years. And Jason was tiny for he majority of his life, so if dick's 15-17 like it was suggested in the show, Jason would be 12-14, and be tiny in compared to Dick XD Although I could see him taking the suit and punking the hell out of Dick from time to time, and "stealing" the stuff from wayne enterprises so he can hand them straight to bruce as part of his robin training test (who puts them right back with better security) I can't see him do it with how old he currectly is or, and this is going extremely au, unless he wasn't the 2nd robin, but the first. if jason Todd was the Batman's first batman. which xplains how he would know most of Dick's moves.
I don't especially like this idea too much though so ignore the theory for the most part.

EdwardX1 In reply to ChasehaWing [2014-10-02 13:55:40 +0000 UTC]
See I could possibly understand that if they shrunk the age gap between him and Dick but I would not think (or approve) of them completely changing it to Jason being the first Robin. Jason's place as the second Robin and attempts to surpass his father figure (Batman) and aloof older brother (Dick) are pretty important to his character, as are many other things.
Like the fact that he would WANT Dick to know it was him. When he had the chance to just bomb Batman and kill him off for real, he didn't because he wanted Batman to know it was him and look into his eyes. When he was Red Hood he purposefully dropped hints of who he was. When he was an evil Batman, he dropped so many hints to Tim and Dick that there was almost no point in wearing the mask... and he knew it, too.
Jason on many occasions has displayed a thing for drama and making sure his "family" knows he's doing it. Probably the only thing (and while I don't like to compare them) that makes him similar to Joker.
Red X may be a show off but he wants to keep himself a mystery. He doesn't show any personal feelings towards Dick until maybe their second meeting and that was at the end of the episode when Dick saved his life.
I love both the characters (Jason and Red X) but I know they are separate.Β

ChasehaWing In reply to EdwardX1 [2014-10-03 08:35:28 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, jason is a dramatic bunny who I feel should be in a theater group of some kind, I can see him doing shakespeare plays in his free time (can you imagine him as Hamlett XD)
And I agree, Jason should always be the second or third robin (I like age reverse aus, where damian is the first robin and it goes backwards from there, they're neat to look into) he works so well as a middle child, and honestly, his complexes and rivalry with those ahead of him, is always interesting to look into. I don't really like it when he's put as the first robin, so as I said, this is if it went way AU.Β
Red X looks like the kind of person who's both doing what he's doing for a thrill, and so he doesn't have to get a normal job. He's like a Saiyuki character, one whose motto is "the only side I'm on is my own." And to be fair he never actually does anything wrong, he punks the Titans, and steals a couple of things from super rich people or something cool so he can make ends meet, but he never goes too far. And if he does make a mistake he goes to fix it before it can get out of hand, like that time with the doctor who wanted to destroy the city and the titans. I think you're right in him wanting to keep a secret identity (because if he doesn't shit might get complicated) but I also see him as being an equilly big troll during his civilian time. Like the kind of person who would eat pizza right behind the titans of their favourite pizza joint, secretly laughing at them or talking to robin sometimes in the park when they go out as a group. I can see him as the biggest troll ever just...being nice to them on his free time then laughing about it later in his room, considering giving them hints, but deciding against it at the end.
I think its best Red X and jason Todd stay separate as well. Red X seems like the kind of character Jason COULD have became, if circumstances were different and death and his training with Talia had not happened, but at the same time, if he didn't stay with Batman, or maybe just someone jason heard about and took cues from after he came back, and as a kid probably even thought "wow, if he wasn't a villain he'd be pretty sweet to meet...heh heh, look at the trouble he causes Dickie." But what I do know, is it would have been way cool if X got his own spin off comic or TV show, and his identity still never got kn own XD

EdwardX1 In reply to ChasehaWing [2014-10-03 13:32:37 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. Jason is the comic book incarnation of middle-child syndrome... or at least was until the New 52 decided to make him less complicated.
I could see that, too. Red X is a total troll and he never tries to hurt innocents. I still can't say he didn't do anything wrong. He does steal from others. Rich people are people, too. Just look at the Bat-fam... and other real life people. X a lot of the time steals pretty important devices that should not be in the hands of just anyone. As he says, he only cares about himself. However, you are correct, he eventually sees the consequences of his life of crime (the mad scientist trying to destroy the city, Robin losing something very precious to him) and will fix things when they put a bad taste in his mouth.
Which makes me wonder what his story is. But that's the beauty of it. *sighs* He was truly a waste of a perfectly good character. I wish the show used him more.

Well, let's consider.
Jason is older, meaning Dick is older, this means Dick has already been Red X and is now Nightwing, this means that whoever was Red X at the same time that Dick was Robin has already also grown older and moved on.
Now someone else is sporting the Red X regalia, and is the size that Robin was when he first wore it, and arguably Jason.Β
This means......?
π: 0 β©: 1
ChasehaWing In reply to Omnipotrent [2014-01-01 12:46:06 +0000 UTC]
He didn't move on. In the TT series it is hinted at loads of times that the robin in the TV show was Dick Grayson, and Tim was not around at all yet. So meaning that Jason must have been alive, and maybe been robin with Batman at the time, since Bruce and Dick never met up in the show ever. possibly keeping to the continuity of the comics that stated Dick and Bruce were having a pissing contest at that time, and therefore never met up again... *KILLS TTG WITH A BUTCHER KNIFE* and Jason, being robin, short, and not yet skilled enough at the time, would not be able to take the Red X costume. And if he did, he would not have been tall or skilled enough to match Dick. *wiping off blood with hanky* So canonically, it can never be him, or any of the robins. though I like this image, it still can only exist in the realms of AU.

Once again.
if JASON is older in this picture/series, Nightwing must then also be Older by now, right? Β Jason Todd is Red Hood now, so he most likely has already been Red X and been done with it.Β
Tim wouldn't be Red X, and that meaaaaaaaaans .............?
