Description "So...Clementine." Carl said.

She nodded once, "And...your Caleb?"

Carl shook his head, "Carl Grimes..." he said shifting his weight as he sat.

She nodded once again.

The Walkers outside cried out and moaned trying to get in at whatever flesh covered beings were inside, but Carl and the girl just sat as if it was the wind howling.

"You with anyone?" Carl asked.

She nodded a little, "I was. Are you?"

Carl sighed rubbing his hand on his gun hand, "I'm looking for my dad and my little sister."

Clementine stopped her train of thought, then looked up at the boy.

"Oh!"

Carl looked back at her, "Have you seen anyone walking down the road by here?"

She shook her head, "Sorry I haven't...you're the first person I've seen in days."

"Who did you see before that?" Carl asked.

"Just some men...." Clementine said looking at her boots again.  "I don't think any of them would've been your dad."

"Oh..." Carl said, "Did they give you trouble?"

Clementine shrugged, "I avoided them, they didn't find me. Is it just you and your dad and sister?"

Carl nodded.

"I'm sorry, I lost my mother too, and my father." she said.

Carl made eye contact with her which they both kept for a long while as if they were siphoning off each others understanding of each other.

"So who were you with before?" he asked, checking his magazine's amount of bullets.

She bit the side of her lip, "Two nice people, they were friends of...well, the man who took care of me after my parents left."  Carl tilted his head.

"Closest thing I had to a dad after that." she expounded.

"I see." Carl said, "Is he still around or...?"

She shook her head looking at her boots again.

Carl saw a fly buzzing on his knee and didn't even flick it off.

"How long have you been looking for them?" Carl asked.

"About a month." she replied.

"And you think they're out there?" Carl asked.

She looked at the teaming hands trying to get through the fortified window.

"I don't think they know I'm out there..." she said honestly, "But yes, I'm pretty sure they're headed towards Louisiana. They need medicine for the baby."

"Baby?" Carl said.   She cocked her brow at him.   "Your sister small too?" she asked.   He nodded, and saw her actually smile, oddly enough it some how lit up the darkened shelter a little.

"You think they could be in Louisiana too?" she asked.

Carl shrugged, "Maybe. How old's your sister, er...your...?"

Clementine let her smile remain, "Almost 1 and a half. Theresa."

"Judith." Carl said. "8 months."

"Well then..." Clementine said, "Guess that settles it, we're finding a way out of here aren't we?"

Carl bit his lips together and stood up, "Suppose so..."

But I do hate him, I mean for the things he did to Glenn and especially to Maggie, and countless other things

Omnipotrent In reply to CreativeExistence [2013-11-27 22:26:04 +0000 UTC]

I can't wait to see what happens. He uses a tank in the comic, and then....something else happens which i won't say in case you haven't read yourself.

And there's no idk about it for me.  He's an awesome character, but in so far that he's so good at being so purely wicked because he sees it as being realistic, and it drives him to do irredeemable things over and over.

CreativeExistence In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-11-28 03:09:00 +0000 UTC]

It's how he survived. It's smart, really. BUT what I don't understand, is in the show, Rick has saved countless lives... he got mad at Carl for shooting that other boy, he tried to bring Morgan with him, he tried to save that annoying lunatic bitch that is a cannibal with the dead husband that tried to kill him, YET he did not save the poor guy running down the road who already had his own supplies/bedding. He didn't show any remorse once he saw the guy had got ripped apart. And yet he has tried to save people since. It doesn't make sense.

Another thing I don't get, is you know the couple they found in the subdivision? The guy with the dislocated shoulder and the girl with the wonky leg. How was her leg cut clean off? It wasn't a chomp, it doesn't make sense. Does it mean someone cut it off? It just seemed too clean. And why the leg? How was her body so far away from the leg? Lol I might have missed an obvious message that was implied.

You kind of have to realize that Rick was dead inside at that point.

I mean, he felt betrayed utterly by Lori, then his own son has to kill Lori...and be there for her, cause he couldn't be there, so he couldn't tell her he loved her, OR save her, and now his son is damaged cause of it, and it's also his fault, and with the pressing that none of you are going to survive, AND everyone's lives on your shoulders...while trying to lose as much as your soul as necessary to survive....it takes it's tole on a man.     Hence he let the running guy stay in the road rather then pick him up.

If anything it's a better show casing of how Rick is a better man then the Governor.  When Rick went down that road, it was evident it was destroying him, The Governor embraced it and let it consume him and didn't offer a fight cause he believed he was right and smart enough to do it, as where Rick has always been a good man who's had to die to himself in a wicked merciless time.

CreativeExistence In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-11-28 03:55:54 +0000 UTC]

Ok, yes, I get that. That's why I put he has saved people after that too. It just isn't consistent. I wish he had of saved him, really. BUT, the ending to that episode was like a "woah". It had impact. It was a cool and effective ending. I just think I like Rick less now because his character has inconsistencies.
Sometimes he's moody, sometimes he sees dead people, then he doesn't. Then he does again. And then he's fine and then he hates everyone and will let the world burn, and then he's fine. Like, I still care about him, but it's getting frustrating. What inconsistencies with the show have you noticed?

and the leg thing?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omnipotrent In reply to CreativeExistence [2013-11-28 06:49:08 +0000 UTC]

The Leg thing I'm not sure about.

But, think about it, his inconsistencies are because the guy is not right in the head, and is just now getting over that. The fact that he's functioning like he is now is a step in the right direction.

Other people have just completely snapped in his position, the fact is he's too decent a man for this just to role off his back, in some ways in the same way it even roles off the back of Carl or Daryl.

His character is still the same, still sturdy, but it's sturdy against the storm that's beaten and broken him into this very....I wouldn't say "wavering" but undone foundation, still staying strong to striving for what's right, even if he doesn't know which is up or down the entire time.

The guy is still dedicating himself to leading these people, AND a batch of Woodberry newbies in addition to the two kids he has to think of.......even though, he knows he's strictly speaking a mad man.

Herschel knows it, his son knows it, even Daryl knows it, and he's glad they do so that he doesn't have to worry about them reigning him in.    BUT he isn't letting that handicap stop him from protecting people.

Again, as opposed to the Governor who while he functions more rationally, is almost maniacle in how he rationalizes things that Rick with his inconsistencies would never consider.

What you have is a rational Monster in the Governor, and Irrational Hero.   One is broken, the other is breaking.

To contrast, Rick because of his issues let a man off to his own devices to live or die on the road.  The Governor would simply talk to him, asses if he was useful, then kill him while looking him in the face and take his supplies.   One is a monster the other's still a man.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CreativeExistence In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-11-28 16:38:13 +0000 UTC]

I would have to say in that instance, Rick was a monster as well. A different way of being a monster. And I know he's a madman but maybe I just see it as strange and quick because I watched a lot of those episodes one after the other. Not sure. I'll always love that show.
I would have liked to see Sophia grow up longer in the TV show... Would have been interesting to see how a little girl with a mother who (for the longest time) contrasted Rick, would have grown up.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omnipotrent In reply to CreativeExistence [2013-11-28 19:19:51 +0000 UTC]

OH I'm not negating that Rick did a monsterous thing, I'm just saying comparatively, he's not nearly as bad as the Governor, in so far that he's functioning with a handicap, one he's fighting, as where the Governor welcomes the darkness with open arms and weilds it like a pro.

Again, if it been him meeting him on the road, he'd of been killed for his things.  He did after all slaughter a whole camp of women and children by himself to achieve a goal, and was able to play with and make jokes with a little girl afterward.

I agree that Sophia would have been interesting to see grow older, but I understand why she died when she did.

CreativeExistence In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-11-28 19:27:11 +0000 UTC]

It helped build Carol's character, build Daryl's and make an impact for the barn scene.

And I see it as he killed a group of people, not really that he was able to kill specifically women and children. And there weren't really any children in that massacre. Just the older teenage boy. I think children are his downfall. I wonder if he could kill Carl and Judith... Carl probably because Carl would try to kill him. But I think he would spare Judith.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omnipotrent In reply to CreativeExistence [2013-11-28 23:25:29 +0000 UTC]

He'd RAISE Judith as a spite to Rick, basically making what was once his, his now.

Carl he'd kill without a thought because he's to much like Rick and he wants Rick to know what it feels like for your child to be stolen from you without reason.   In truth, he'd probably do something as sick as having Carl bitten and then making Rick have to kill him.

And I do remember the good brother that the Governor killed who said that they  shouldn't kill those people say they had young and women with them. I'd have to rewatch it.

CreativeExistence In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-11-29 03:30:23 +0000 UTC]

I don't think the Governor killed them. Or else why kill the brother if the Governor would just do it anyway? And I wonder if he will turn against the group of two women he joined. He didn't have a reaction when the bad brother called her a bitch or whatever he said. I'm interested in all this. Sunday is almost here!

I will always love his character and I will be sad when he dies because he had humanity. He was just a man who was broken by his circumstances.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omnipotrent In reply to CreativeExistence [2013-11-30 07:51:32 +0000 UTC]

True....but when the fiddle hit the cord, he choose wrong, and despicably wrong.

An epic character, totally! One of the best, hell yes.  However, there's just way to much deliberateness behind his way of life for him to be Victim in any sort, the humanity he does have is a farce, which is the sad fact of it, even he can't outrun that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CreativeExistence In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-11-30 16:28:43 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't say it's a farce. As you saw it in the first episode when it was just him on his own and he meets up with the family. He has humanity but he hates the prison group because they were the reason for the "death" of his daughter. Idk, he is evil, but he was crying after her killed Martinez. He's complex and confusing and arguably the most in depth character. The most interesting character.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omnipotrent In reply to CreativeExistence [2013-11-30 21:44:37 +0000 UTC]

Oh he's VERY in Depth, and quite interesting, but yes he is evil, and while his humanity isn't a farce in the sense that it isn't real, he still can't pretend to have wholsitic love, it will always have an angle, and agenda, a mode to default too, its how he's wired now.  Any hint at love will be met with a string attached. And that my friend is the cost of embracing the darkness

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CreativeExistence In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-12-01 00:05:46 +0000 UTC]

He's realistic though. What normal human being would be so victorious and not broken? We would kill each other.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omnipotrent In reply to CreativeExistence [2013-12-01 01:55:05 +0000 UTC]

Hence why Rick is actually more realistic and more believable

CreativeExistence In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-12-01 02:54:30 +0000 UTC]

... No I was talking about the Governor. Anyways, it doesn't matter what's said lol, the Governor is my favourite.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omnipotrent In reply to CreativeExistence [2013-12-01 03:17:39 +0000 UTC]

He's a favorite of mine too, i'm just saying according to the logic and standards you've mentioned, Rick would be technically the better man and better character

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CreativeExistence In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-12-01 03:23:17 +0000 UTC]

I suppose, but he hasn't truly let anything break him yet. He isn't too far gone like the Governor. I wasn't saying "better" as in a good person, I meant realistically. Realistically, we would kill each other in an environment like that

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omnipotrent In reply to CreativeExistence [2013-12-01 06:09:23 +0000 UTC]

Not necessarily.

The show itself is a case study in which people break and which don't.

In the environment that the Governor was in, allot of choices he made are harsh extremes that aren't excusable as possibilities unless you've already sunk to the level of thinking "Anyghing goes."

The reason he pushed himself as far as he did,  is because he, almost like Rick, if not more so is insane, and could not let his little girl go, and used that to justify everything, and that everything was uncalled for to say the least, even in that "environment."

And when that reason was plucked, there was no longer a need for pleasantries, and the real him which he'd been creating to protect his daughter stretched it's legs and resulted in so many deaths.
