NICE tut. I've always either just misted the plants, waited after rain or dewy mornings. Whatever works. Want big ol' drops? This seems the best way to go

hum, interesting.. I have one question about your portrait photos. Do you use the macro lens to get a better brokeh effect?
I'm using my 50mm 1.8/F, and the result is like crap... unless i'm super close to the subject

Some of the positions in which you have those drops look quite precarious; how on earth do you get the water to stay where you place it without it just falling off? That's the biggest problem I get.

I suppose so
As long as you can get a macro lens on it, or have a macro setting

I don't hav macro camera (just Panasonic DMC-FX150) but I'll try, 'coz it's soo nice effect, thanks

onixa In reply to maajonez [2009-07-30 00:19:52 +0000 UTC]
lol sory i should probably change that
Any camera is fine, as long as it is a SLR, or atleast has a Macro setting

When you do this, do you thicken the water so it stays easier or do u just use plain ol water?

Great tutorial but I must correct you... What is "macro camera"?
It can be every camera
. "Macro lens" propably menas the same
. Of course one lens is better for macro photography than other lens. Which lens do you use?

onixaStock In reply to ladyang [2009-05-18 21:51:20 +0000 UTC]
yes i know it's worded funky, your right there is no macro camera haha. But still you can't jut use any camera, it has to be a SLR or at least a point-and-shoot that can use a macro lens, or one that has that option, like my old fuji s9100.
otherwise, yes, its just a camera. and yes a macro lens. If you use any regular lens, you won't get the up close option, however if you do something to it, it might become a macro lens.
but in anyway, thanks for stoping by

One Question:
can you use cameras besides
a macro one?
i have a canon rebel XSi...
will it work the same?
if i put the setting on M?
π: 0 β©: 2
onixaStock In reply to SweetHeartPhotos [2009-05-18 21:52:19 +0000 UTC]
Yes sorry, all i ment was a SLR camera, not necesserily a macro one
π: 0 β©: 1
GrandSpammer In reply to SweetHeartPhotos [2009-05-15 07:56:59 +0000 UTC]
Ofcourse you can. It's just when you use a macro lense you get a clearer image and you can get closer.
M does just stand for MANUELL, which means you can set the settings manually. Recommended for almost everything thought. I allways use M.
But on Canon it doesn't say M .. it's something else, cant remember now, but just look for the total manual setting, and you should be ready to roll
