Description
Erik circa age...well....very young. In Kay's timeline, he would still be at the home in Boscherville, but I found the title appropos due to the way he was treated while at home...as an oddity, a freak, an unwanted testament to a life less than perfect.Related content

Awwww :<
Young Erik always makes me want to hug him. Since that is impossible I will hug my pillow now...! *this one is for you Erik!*
As you CAN say bad things about him as an adult, as a child he is so vulnerable and yet has to become the much feared 'Opera Ghost'...
Ohhh, damn, Erik, if you just had received some love, goddammit! Now I think about all those other "Erik's" around this world. Abused and hated children, who either are also ugly, or are an 'accident', or anything... I wish I could all give them a bit of my love

This is beautiful yet heart breaking... I love the muted colours, the pitiful look on his face, the lighting, the perfect proportions. Brilliant work.

Ah, you give my proportions too much credit. They are far from perfect, but the overall effect is decent.
I'm really glad that you enjoy it!

He may look odd, as the title says, but yet he holds some of this intriguing cuteness which will obviously make anyone go "awww...".
Great job
It's a deffinite

Yeah, he seems to be imploring that human touch in a way that escapes little ones.

Awww...thanks, now I'm kind of depressed. I hope you're very happy with yourself. But seriously. Very well done. If I didn't know who Erik was this would remind me of the modern surrealist movement, like Ryden or something.

Poor little man. I see you've read Susan Kay. Of course. It's difficult to call oneself a phan, truly, and not have read it. I mean, I realise it's not really available in book form, but I got it in pdf word file. I was -this- close to typing 'phile' >_<.
I would love to see a Phantom graphic novel from you. That would just be... *dies*

The trick is to do one, professionally. I'd buy it! I know hundreds of people who would. Okay, maybe I don't know them personally, but I can guarantee you that they're out there XD. Even if you just wanted to do a few pages, illustrate your favourite scenes from Kay's novel or whatever, that would be awesome.

Perhaps in time...I'd really like to do some one shot comics of the Persian period, for example, but actually having enough time to ink multiple panels as opposed to one big drawing is kind of dodgy.

I understand. Aside from the huge error margin, it's just a lot of work. That's why I do most of my stuff digitally. Ctrl+Z is my best friend XD.

This is such a cute picture. I really like the colors you used. It makes him look so sad! I just want to steal him from his horrid mother and spoil him rotten!

heh..it's funny, of the people that have seen it in person the reaction is either yours or "What the hell is wrong with him? He's scary." Never in between.

I really love the way you painted it
Your skills don't stop amazing me.
And those beautiful colors mixed with his eyes...
The only thing I would change would have been the hair... it seems rather odd for a kid to wear his hair combed that way... maybe a messed up hair with some tufts hanging over his eyes.
Dunno, just a lil suggestion
