Rorschach cosplay to be worn at DragonCon 2009.So, the hat was made from the ground up. It was a rabbit fur felt hood that was wet pulled over a bowler block ( to get the intense, boxy high crown) and then bashed and telescoped by hand. The grosgrain hatband was also hand painted.
The scarf is a silk cotton blended boucle.
The trenchcoat was actually black twill when I got ahold of it. Much chemical alteration and overdying yielded a pretty decent brown, which I then painted/distressed. This particular photo doesn't really show it, but I wired one of the epaulets so that it would stand up in that signature kink from the comics.
And last, but certainly not least, the mask is a hand painted stretch knit. If only I could get the blot to shift ::Sighs::

One of the best Rorschach cosplays I've seen, nicely done. If you're after the ink to move on your mask, use thermochromic paint. It will appear coloured at room temperature but then your breath heats the paint it will turn white. Its funky stuff.

The felt is actually more of a grey color, but it behaves well in the light. I will eventually do a Screen Accurate brown version....or mist fabric paint on the existing one. Who knows.

Maybe in the future you can get the shifting cloth, I believe some form of Nanobot cloth would do it. They're making them little buggers to get stains out, I don't see why they can't make them shifty and alter cloth.

Basically the idea is to have them show some black as they scamper around the cloth... I remember someone doing a project on nanobot technology, and 'self cleaning clothes' or something like that... I dunno, sorry to ramble >w<

The coat's twill? Before I read the description, I thought it was leather! (That'd probably be a bit impractical for D*Con though, huh?)

Yeah, the coat from the film looks to be some kind of oilskin/waxed twill so I wanted to try and be as faithful as possible.
And yes, D*Con can get a bit stuffy now and then ::grins::

The fur is felted in the wool. It isn't like a pelt or an angora sweater!
