Description
A tribute to Matt Wagner's Grendel: Hunter Rose. I recently re-discovered this comic series when going through my collection and the stark black, white and red series really cemented my love for the medium. This particular Grendel is the aforementioned Hunter Rose...a swanky sort of guy with a real lust for fencing and crime.Related content

I've never heard of Hunter Rose, but you're picture has piped my curiosity. I love the black-and-white character against the dark red background. Good work.

He's a really compelling character. Very film noir meets detective comics meets Dr. Faustus. I can't get enough of it.
One of my favourite Matt Wagner creations.

Tres elegant, classy, yet strangely morbid at once. Brava!

Merci Madame! I had hoped that you would enjoy him...after all, he is another masked antihero in a tuxedo...

Quite! Though, I wasn't certain if you were aware that another Alan Moore comic is being filmed . . . V for Vendetta - yet another dark antihero (in a black hat, cape, and white porcelain mask )
[link] Starring Hugo Weaving as the titular hero/terrorist trying to overthrow a totalitarian government. I must say looks quite intriguing thus far - and quite your cup of tea.

Well, you might have hope because the people who 'created' the film are the Wacowski brothers, you know, the bros who wrote The Matrix? I look forward to this film as well!

Mrrrr...
I envy you so. the background is amazing, and you have such a control over watercolours and crosshatching.

Ah, one man's envy is another's bane. I get really sick of doing red splochy backgrounds, but they just seem to fit everything...it's unoriginal, but it works.
