Description
Hi all.I did this as a Concept art just for fun. I like drawing new races. I called this one the Phiru.
The live underground in huge caves with all kind of underground flora. They ride on this crystal ball as "mount" and propell it via magic. The crstal ball itself is a fruit of a underground tree and filled with gas lighter than air. (something like Helium in our world).
The race is very familiar to magic.
Dont miss his littel Familiar sitting on the Phiruans knee

Yes i was very afraid when i did choose the colour pink as a background but i heard from people that realy hate the colour pink that it 'S looking quite good for pink

awesome not only is it a great picture, filled with movement and energy, but it has a imaginative idea behind it too. i like making up stories too but your world seems so whimsical and three dimensional. the background is beautiful too, the cavern flora looks alot like something youd see in a tropical reef on earth. the costume and character design is awesome too, and what a cute familiar! overall its a really great fantasy art

lol nice it's like a blue tmnt gecko. that ball it's on, how you describe it, it sounds like how the tree fruits were in the caves in a episode of kyrandia. They had 3 sets for that game(digital game like diablo but like...star control/roger wilco days.
I like the description you gave for that fruit, it gave me nostalgia for kyrandia

This is truly amazing work orco. And it is ORIGINAL. I LOVE the detail you put into the fur and I also like your pastel coloring techniques. I hope to work on fur sometime.
At what DPI do you scan your pics?

i dont scan my pictures i draw the whole picture from sketch to the final pic on the PC with corel painter and my wacom. the pictures then are at a size of about 5000x6000 pixels 300dpi.

Ah, that is neat! I made a couple of attempts to draw straight from my cheap wacom but its hard.

a very nice pic, i like the way that you work with colors and your concepts seem to be imaginative as well, is this a race for Warcraft or just a random idea in your imagination?

No this is no warcraft race it's just a random one. I was thinking of making a comic once and so i gather ideas for it. I don't know if i ever do a comic though

well i use painter8 to draw this pictures. I also do the scetches on the pc using a pencil tool.
the familiar can be seen a little larger in the close up picture which is also in my galleire or did you mean larger in relation to the Phiru character?
