Description
Sunstorm Cattery was known for being able to rehabilitate and train cats rather well; especially in the new Colorado location where the altitude alone kept most newcomer cats more docile (or, well, tired due to less oxygen) and thus more trainable and easier to acclimate to its new surroundings.
Sharky for the most part was in charge of the Cat Fostering until the new hires were more experienced.
She knew the people from Swampwater Cathouse rather well- they had been affiliated for a while and grown together as fellow catteries since before Sharky ever had her first Shedu. Actually, they had gifted to her one of her first Shedus- a very protective and loyal cat named Sargentium. Since her clingy cubhood, Sargentium had grown more comfortable being further and further independent from Sharky, and was able to go off on her own about the cattery. Still, she came running the moment she was called. Sharky was proud of her to say the least.
Nonetheless, Sunstorm Cattery and Swampwater Cathouse seemed to have a mutual trust. When Sharky got a phone call requesting that they help to train one of their more problematic cats, she took it blindly, thinking it would just be another crazy, super-energetic cat- but when the trailer came by, the albino cat inside seemed rather... calm. For a moment, Sharky suspected that the cat perhaps just had bad manners, or had 'cage syndrome', or was just getting used to the mild lack of oxygen like most other cats. Nonetheless she stood to admire the cat- it was a pristine white, with large and curious red eyes that seemed to observe everything. They darted around a bit as the giant cat stood there, panting lightly and calmly.
Convinced it was safe, Sharky slowly walked up and held out her hand- which the cat sniffed through the bars of the trailer door. As it retreated, satisfied from the sniff, Sharky opened the latch to the trailer door and untied it from the post. As part of the usual process, she lead the cat over to a free-standing post to give it a bath- it usually helped her to know about the cat to see how it reacts to a bath- and the cat stayed rather far behind her at the very end of the leash. Perhaps it was shy, or stubborn. Either way, Sharky turned her back to tie the cat to the post.
She began to hear a low rumble, when heard Deramisso rush the truck door open (he had been the one to pick up the cat from the airport).
“SHARKY!!!!”
The rumble increased in volume as she turned to face ten giant, fully-extended claws, a mouthful of spear-like teeth, and angry, blood red eyes flying at her. Sharky ducked in a rush of adrenaline, and with her eyes closed she heard out of the albino's scream-like roar a loud thud and confusion- followed by an even larger and more drawn-out thud and aggravated rowling and roaring.
She looked up to see a blur of furious red and silver and white and blue and brown beating the heck out of the poor albino several meters away. Sargentium, coming from seemingly nowhere, had tackled the albino cat full-force. She had the cat by the nape of his neck like a cub and was leaping about and smacking him in the face over and over again with her huge front paws, kicking him with her back paws. For the most part her weight was on his back and he was in a constant struggle trying to even so much as stand up- he barely managed to do any damage to her with his back legs kicking at her from time to time. Sargentium was a mildly smaller cat than he was, and probably inferior strength-wise in every way, but nonetheless it was hilarious to watch as she taught some manners to this menace. The albino could have probably owned her in that fight, even if he were pinned like that, but Sargentium had one huge advantage: she was already used to the high altitude.
Proud and surprised as Sharky was of Sargentium, she knew that Swampwater probably didn't want this cat to come back blind or dead. She called Sargentium off as Jill came running with a shock baton. Buck came, too, with some extra ropes for lack of being able to find anything useful. Blade of Coalridge appeared as well.
Coalridge was highly on-edge as he trotted up. The Komainu in him was beyond ready to kill this cat if need be, especially for daring to cause any damage to Sargentium, and he marched over and towered over the albino, growling loudly.
The albino, seeing his options, decided to stay in his downed position as Sharky looped the lead around his heavily scratched and bleeding mouth from afar to allow Buck to put a muzzle and claw-mittens on him.
She hated to do it, but Sharky knew that this cat would have to be quarantined and kept under tight restraints until it was healed. At that point, she didn't know what else to do with it. She gave Buck the order to take the cat to the underground part of the cattery to 'the jail cell'. It was used for cats who couldn't be allowed to run or move much due to injury and was located right next to the vet's office. It wasn't an uncomfortable stable, but it wasn't very large, either. But if anything, Jane would be able to keep a close watch over him to see if the cat weren't insane or self-destructive. After all, this cat could be a long-lasting BPD Ramses cat underneath the albino- she wasn't sure.
Buck mounted Blade of Coalridge and grabbed the albino's leash, practically dragging him from about ten feet away. The albino, seeing a chance as Buck turned to focus on steering, tried to knock him off. To which, Coalridge whirled around and gave the albino a nasty roar-snap, waiting for the albino to retreat before continuing. Jill decided she should probably follow with the shock-baton, in case anything went down.
Meanwhile, Sharky inspected Sargentium's wounds. They were mainly scratch marks on her back leg and a few on her ribs and shoulder, but she had more of the other cat's blood on her paws than she did on her whole body. All very superficial.
That night, Sharky went to report the incident to Swampwater Cathouse, and to ask further questions on how to deal with the cat.
Gambit answered the phone- sounding hardly surprised and glad that everyone was generally ok. It sounded like she had had a rough time that day as well, and said that any scars that may end up on the Albino (his name is Red-Eye Moonshine) would probably be understandable. He was more of a racing cat than a dressage cat, anyways.
Sharky nonetheless felt bad- She had come to know Gambit from running into her on the streets, and knew about her main Shedu- a giant, heavily-scarred cat called Hulk- who had been heavily mistreated and abused as a cub. They both shared a mutual hate for any violence done to cats, but to have to tell Gambit that her own carelessness had caused harm to yet another Shedu of theirs wasn't anything less than humbling.
The plan was to patch up Red-Eye Moonshine the best they could and try to train him a little under muzzle and mitten. When he was healed enough for him to walk around outside again, they would send him back, or a month went by, whichever comes first. Gambit even offered back one of Corsair's cubs as a throw-in payment for all of the trouble. Corsair was a Sunstorm Cattery cat, and Sharky couldn't help but to think that her strongest alliance was beginning to unravel- nonetheless, she took the offer and hung up the phone. It was better to lose an ally and at least gain something than to simply lose an ally. Besides, it would be nice for the cub to see his mother again- hoping she still recognized him.
Jane, the Cattery Vet, came up soon after Sharky had hung up the phone.
“I had a look at Sargentium's wounds” She started, “You know she's pregnant, right?”

Yeah, totally dropped the 'pregnant' bomb on this one. XD Sorry. But seriously, though, she had her first litter of cubs recently and I'm still designing them and waiting for them to be approved. "pregnant" it is until then.
Just wanted to add in some stuff to the SSC timeline as it's beginning to go out of whack since I'm focusing on breeding an Arabian-worthy kitty, stat-wise.
Already to the fourth generation, and should be in the fifth by July. Still struggling to figure out the age of some of the newer cats so I can begin to focus on them more and keep the newer generations less 'lonely'.
Goodness, Daybreaker and Sargentium are getting old. :/ Here, they're about 5-6 years.
Coalridge is about 2.5.
