Description
This painting is based off of my reaction to the Mogwai song "Hunted By a Freak". I listened to this song throughout the entire process (24+ hours including the thought process/planning). This is done in oil paints on illustration board.Related content

You did find a lovely model for your painting. It is a very graceful, thoughtful portrait, though to me it seems more peaceful than haunted.

This is fricken awesome! It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to say on this(about an hour actually)! I couldnt find anything I didnt like about the pic though! The shading is awesome and so is the colors! The hair looks perfect too! It reminds me of the picture off a movie I saw once called "Ever After"! All I can say is great job and keep up the awesome work!

Absolutely stunning. I love how you used the oil. I really thought the background was a watercolor wash. Very nice effect, and the tones work in perfect harmony. I don't often see those used together so well.

I really adore this. The face seems so real, yet the colors make it look like a tapestry out of a faerie's castle. I love the way the hair and face have completely different textures and styles. The hair just sorta...pops out and the face is nice and soft. You have ALOT of talent!

I thought this was pretty in the side panel as a featured deviation, but it's absolutely divine in full-view mode!!!

I really admire you for the way you bring out the brightness with oils.... you give the whole painting a kind of glowing effect. My oils always come out dark and with mellow colours.

This is absolutely awesome! The color gradients in the facial rendering are beautiful. But the hair...that's what really pulls you in. Extremely well done. Good job on pulling the eye back to the face with the blocks of color

You've captured the spaced out effect Mogwai deliver in a visual form, it's great to see that. It's difficult to give critque because of that, it's all in your own world, the colours and imagary are what you see.
Technically, it's very good

At first I didn't look at this close, because I'm not that interested in "traditional" art. Then I saw the title. One of the best songs ever, you can easily listen to it 24 hours.
As to the painting, good work I guess, somehow it fits the mood of the song.

Hot damn! I've always had a lot of trouble getting oil paints to blend that way, and you did a fantastic job. Also, great use of color. Oil paintings should have color.

That song is so inspiring for painting too, and so relaxing. I think as a response to the music its really great and relaxed. And the colours are the best - green and blue really work and the only colours you really could use with such a song. great track, picture and well done on the DD.

Hey, That was wikid! I myself know its not hard to listen to a song for more than 8 hours straight each day for 3 days if it helps u think. LOL
Well anyway, I find it dificult to draw people so I thought that was truely a great piece of work. : )
