Great stuff mate, highlights really have a glow to them, and the shadows are spot on. Making me want to pick up a pencil for the first time in.. quite awhile.

The Bargue-Gerome Drawing Course is a reprint of a famous, late nineteenth century drawing course. Good ol'academic drawing course.
I strongly recommend that!!!

Yeah, I spent most of my early years practicing pencil studies and stuff like that. I only was introduced to photoshop a year ago, I think.

Yeah, photoshop is kinda expensive.
You should try a software called Artrage (type it on Google). It is really cool, and you have a 30 days evaluation time to see if you like.
It is cheap. Something like $50. I bought it!
Corel Painter is a lot cheaper than PS and do pretty much the same stuff.
Adobe gives lots of discount for students. You should check it out their website.
A good tip is to look for older versions of Photoshop forgotten in stores (specially in big computer or bookstores). You can always ask for a discount since the software is old.
Of course you can always give a shit to this all and download it illegally. Your choice.
