Oh, I don't know. I for one feel more like they're too close to be romantically involved. Their relationship just doesn't work like that. They might experience a few moments, but I don't think their relationship would ever take that turn.
Although if they did, it would be... just too cute. <3. I wonder who would wear the pants in that relationship, so to speak?

To me he seems like someone who would rather stay lonely, but is constantly feeling inclined to say or do something. Not sure why I think this, but that's just what I see.
Though if this isn't what you're implying with your character don't feel like you've done something wrong. I'm literally known for taking things in odd ways.

I always try to imagine a wirtty dialogue, especially in serious situations; or I go drawing and inventing dialogue: not always a publishable effort but always really entertaining.
In my Rps I have frequently, as the main antagonist, an agent from the SSG (Six Shadows Gang), my OC (?) supervillain group, like AIM or Doom League in human universes: yesterday, by pure boredom, drew a page where Duncan, my OD Minccino is beaten and rendered unconscious by a sneasel and a zangoose... a bit of dialogue between them... and Cell C, from SSG was born: complete, all six members!
(Hint: if you see any of them, pass to the opposite street!)
