Description

Titanus gojira or more often referred to as “Godzilla” is a large super species of reptile like titan with a bio-nuclear circulatory system. The species is functionally extinct, being only represented by a single living male individual. As of 2019 this Godzilla stands at 119.8 meters and is estimated to weigh over 90,000 kg. Evidence suggests this individual could be more than 250 million years old, being born sometime during the Late Permian Period. The creature is incredibly powerful, durable and intelligent and is able to defend itself by producing a concentrated beam of ionising radiation referred to as its “Atomic breath”. He is also able to release devastating thermonuclear pulses while in his “burning form” which incinerate everything in their range.

History:

Sightings of Godzilla in the South Pacific Ocean began in 1943 however based off archeological evidence its likely the creature was witnessed by humanity several times prior over the past 10,000 years. In 1945 after Godzilla was awoken by the detonation of the atomic bomb designated “Little Boy” over Hiroshima. The creature proceeded to hunt and kill the Shinomura, a parasitic colonial organism. The species was formally identified by Monarch in 1954 and on March 1st 1954 the thermonuclear weapon “Castle Bravo” was detonated at the Bikini Atoll in an attempt to kill the creature. During the 40s and 50s several warships including the U.S.S Lawton were attacked by Godzilla however the creature had shown no further aggression towards humanity since. A second deceased member of the species was discovered in the Philippines in 1999, designated Specimen 99_01 or “Dagon”. This individual appeared to have been killed after the M.U.T.O Prime (Titanus Jinshin-Mushi) deposited two parasitic spores inside of it approximately 1,100 years ago. In 2014, during the Battle of San Francisco Godzilla resurfaced after being missing for 60 years and hunted and killed both the male and female M.U.T.O, preventing them from reproducing. Several Months later Godzilla again emerged and killed the M.U.T.O Prime. In May 2019 Godzilla would resurface to battle the extra terrestrial titan refereed to as “Monster Zero” or “Ghidorah”. After the “oxygen destroyer” was detonated Godzilla was mortally wounded and was forced to retreat to the hollow-earth city to heal itself. A nuclear warhead was detonated at point blank range by humans in order to revive him. During the battle with Ghidorah in Boston the titan “Titanus mosura” sacrificed herself allowing Godzilla to absorb her life energy. This lead to him entering his “burning” form where he was finally able to defeat Ghidorah. Since then Godzilla has remained active, keeping other titans away from populated areas and patrolling his territory. His presence is said to have a largely beneficial effect on the health of marine reefs.

Do any of you have any fanart depicting Godzilla and Ghidorah fighting that was drawn before KotM came out? Specifically really detailed pictures.

I have to admit, I've noticed a lot of kaiju artists drawing the Titans in mission brief mode since that last film was released.

I thought this was supposed to be another dinosaur drawing and I was about to be like:  "You can't fool me! This is godzilla!" Turns out it's just godzilla.

technically , the species would be critically endangered

No, it’s functionally extinct because he’s the last remaining member of his species and has no one to mate with

It isn't actually confirmed which Titan attacked and sank the Lawton, only that according to Randa, "it had no conscience". That doesn't describe Godzilla at all.

looking at this and knowing that Rodan is supposedly like 46 metres tall....leaves me suspicious OF that "official" height estimate. Especially going by his size when he challenges Godzilla at the end. 50 or even 60 metres makes more sense for him.

He definitely looked bigger than 47m in some scenes.

TheMonkeysUnkle In reply to Majestic-Colossus [2020-03-12 22:34:42 +0000 UTC]

Keep in mind, their listed height is only in regards to their most common posture. Since Rodan's stance is quadrupedal, he's going to be listed as pretty short. This does not account for his height when he stands upright on his hind legs. With that, I'd say he should be closer to 70 meters.

The same goes for Ghidorah. His listed height is 150 meters, but when shown standing upright in Antarctica, he absolutely towers over Godzilla, looking to be about half again as tall as the latter. That would put him while standing upright at closer to 180 meters.

Nice Work
I like the terms you used for its status: "functionally extinct".
I just think you were wrong of the year about the first glimpses of G. (1945)
You know, although Godzilla officially lived in the Permian, because of its crocodilian characteristics, I would say that it is an archosauromorph, and they barely appeared at the end of the Permian, therefore it would make more sense that they evolved during the Mesozoic.
I remember that when the first movie (2014) was announced with the news that it would be the biggest version so far, there were rumors of up to 120 meters long, who would say that the sequel would return to this rumor reality.

As far as I know, it was never officially stated that Legendary's Godzilla descended from synapsids. His body morphology also suggests any fan theory about his true origins is up for debate (He could be a synapsid, an archosaur, or perhaps some far older and completely unrelated organism that convergently evolved a reptilian-esque body-plan thanks to the adaptive nature of his cells).

I’m pretty sure we don’t know the specific ancestry of Titanus Gojira, but we do know that the individual seem in the Monsterverse was alive to see the Permian extinction and go into hibernation (thanks to Godzilla Awakening)

Majestic-Colossus [2019-07-17 16:21:04 +0000 UTC]

I hate to be that guy, but Godzilla is undersized by about 20-25% here. Assuming the human is 1.75m, the "10m" bar is not 10m, but ~7.5m. That makes a very significant difference in Godzilla's total height. The 2019 Legendary Goji is 119.8m tall, but yours is 90m tall = 25% undersized.

Other than that, I must say it looks magnificent!
