how do you get rid of the blue lines? D:

Grim-away In reply to Temni-Chan [2009-08-15 05:09:44 +0000 UTC]
The blue lines are just colored pencil lines. You can easily erase them with an eraser.

really? what rubber do you use? rubbing out coloured pencil lines doesn't really work with my rubbers, or is it just with the blue colour that it's okay?

That's colored pencils, I think you're talking about the ones made by Crayola, Faber Castel, or Prisma. These are Very different. They are pencils. It's lead, just colored lead. Regular erasers do and will work on these. I used to use these back in college for animation. It's what animators use because the scanners don't pick up the light lines. Basically we use them to mark "in betweens". Trust me, if you get the proper pencils and colored lead, regular erasers will work.

It's amazing (and a little creepy) that you can do so many things freehand. I guess, as you continue practicing and just keep drawing, you instinctively learn how to do things without messing up (too badly). I know, for me, I would get really nervous when working with ink and that nervousness would probably lead me to doing most of what you do (coloring in shadows, etc.) on the computer.
Someday, I hope I can have as much skill as you so that I can ink things freehand and not be nervous. But I have a long ways to go. You say there's nothing special about your inking, but the fact that you can keep your hand that steady and know where to make lines thicker and thinner is special, because it takes lots of practice to get to that point.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. It really helped out. Or, it will help out. Later, when I actually get around to inking...
Gahh... I really hate inking...

How long it took you to finish one panel and one page of the comic? For example this. It seem lot of hard work is put in to just one page...
I think this is extremely useful!

it up to detail but mostly 2-6 hours per page.
