Copics are the best. I love the marker's tip, it makes inking in easier.

I'm surprised how much I actually do all of this, but you've taught me how to make mine better. I'm going to try to work on my doujinshis more now!

As always, you're work is beautiful, Pandabaka-san!

Glad I'm not the only person that uses Copics markers for inking. XD Great tutorial. ^^ It's just looking at the progress from the sketch to the finished page.

That's it, I'm using my blue colored pencil when I do comics next time.

queenpride In reply to morikun-rinari [2009-08-15 04:03:18 +0000 UTC]

Blue lead is awesome. Colored pencil works too, I guess, but blue lead is better because it constantly stays sharp, so you don't have to sharpen. You can buy it (if you're lucky) at a office supplies store. I'm sure art stores will have them, too. If not, then you can order them online.

But, yeah. Blue lead is your friend... *w*

Oh of course, I'll think about getting blue lead too. I know a Japanese bookstore that sells colored lead so I might get some the next time I visit.

amazing tutorial panda, thank you so much, and one question: do you erase your blue sketchlines after you're done inking?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pandabaka In reply to Dranzer92 [2009-08-15 18:46:05 +0000 UTC]

nope I not eraser them because when you scan it too add screen tone it will lost by add contrast.

pish posh, that was amazing! My lines are always so messy, so it was great to see how you do yours.

I do have several questions about making doujin, (these might also be useful for the next tutorial, I don't know)

-do you write anything on the inside-cover? Such as, "I am the author of this doujin" and perhaps your website?

-what about the back-cover too?

um.. that's it. Sorry if I asked too many questions. And have a great day!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pandabaka In reply to kradeelav [2009-08-15 18:44:23 +0000 UTC]

inside cover? I have talking zone.
aum... alway start by...

'Hi! nice to meet you all both new reader and old reader.... blar blar blar.'

And will talk about doujinshi book a bit.

Inside back cover I have other talking zone about my feeling when I finish that book and how to contact me[e-mail, blog Url]

aww... sorry about the double post...
I hit the wrong key and it just sent the message... XD

but as I was saying, it surely is a lot of hard work but the tutorial you posted erased a lot of my doubts about inking pages.

I was indeed looking for something like this a while ago since I'm starting to draw my own stories! This will be a lot of help for me!

Thank you, Panda san!
I you!

pandabaka In reply to Washu-M [2009-08-15 18:39:53 +0000 UTC]

but you can draw by pen pretty good na~ 0.0

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Washu-M In reply to pandabaka [2009-08-18 07:33:13 +0000 UTC]

nhaaaaa... but only when it comes to biro-pens... those are a lot easier to draw than the ones you use. And for manga stuff a stronger ink is better! just like you did. I'm quite messy with those.
And I really love the contrast a real ink does in a manga scene! XD

unfortunately biro-pens are not good for that...

woszczylo [2009-08-15 00:08:11 +0000 UTC]

extra tip u could live trace and fill black areas on illustrator if u dnt hav time for colouring or if you're hand isn't too steady making smooth lines- this way, u can use cheap pens then improve lines digitally- its easier to put watermarks on your best pages as samples this way too
hope the advise helps- this tutorial has definately helped me (Y) thanks for uploading this
