There was one guy who made an ignorantly hostile reply to this. Some of those military boys can't tell the difference between themselves and the government anymore they've been so brain washed. lol ... thankfully thats only the extreme minority of them.

My explanation of how my Dad agrees with me on this and he fought in Viet Nam and how my Grand Father fought in WWII, etc... shut him up pretty quickly. lol

If we were over there doing what we are supposed to be doing I wouldn't have any objections. This however is not what we are doing. We're over there fucking around, killing mostly civilians and making rich assholes even more rich.

Less than 1% of the people in the United States join any sort of armed forces that it watched over by the department of defence.

I am anti-iraq war. Not anti-soldiers. Right now, our government is wasting lives (among other things) in the persuit of profit.

My father agrees with me and he served his tour of duty in Viet Nam. He'd think you're sick in the head for daring to call me sick in the hear for being against a pointless war.

I`m so glad I live in Canada...My great grandfather was a soldier, my grandfather was a soldier, my father was a soldier, and I have been a soldier lol, kinda family tradition, but the Canadian forces certainly don`t push you towards joining up, they have recruitment offices in cities but they would never show up to a high school to recruit. Thats just messed up.

Though avoiding drafts is good -- the methods they use to recrute are shady.

I remember back in high school these army recruiters where coming onto campus during lunches[we had open lunch so we could leave the school grounds and go around the local restaurants] and one guy came to me and my friends; one of whom was a FRESHMEN.

He asked us how old we where, and targeted the Freshmen telling him about the 'international sports' leagues they had if he joined the army; and asked us for out information.

My mother wrote and called the school a few times and needless to say the recruiters disappeared.

They had even fallowed us to the local Taco Bell when we walked off the campus.

Teachers ran them off the campus about 3 times.

I went to a school that had a lot of kids from Detroit going there; a lot of families in poverty-it was the perfect target really.

I support our troops. Out troops are getting fucked and deceived and I don't appreciate that this is being done to them. So my Anti-BS stuff against the agendas of the government does not mean that I am Anti-People.

I am loyal to my country -- not my government. I feel that my country is all of the people within it -- not the minority of rich elite running things.

The problem with people is that they don't understad the meaning of the word "patriot". Being a patriot is not about blindly following the orders given by the leading elite, it's about asking the question "Is this really what's good for my people or me? Does someone else really know what's good for me better than I do?". True patriots are the people that ask the question "why?".

In Finland you have to choose between six months of armed service, a year of non-military service or a year of jail. When I chose non-military service people would come to me and call me a hippy-anarchist-pussy-communist ect. I replied to them that my decision was never about not wanting to do my part for my country if needed but about the fact that I believe that I can do more good for my people by participating in non-military service than being in army, that shut them up. I would have considered jail as a statement but I don't want to ruin my changes of getting a job by having a permanent mark on my records. It's actually illeqal to force people to go to jail for their beliefs as stated in the european unions constitution but that doesn't seem to matter. Maybe Il try to seek asulym in the Netherlands like one finnish guy did

I find it horribly difficult the past 'few years' to support much; when all you hear about is our troops raping and torturing innocent civilians.

My grandfathers where both in wars; my mother grew up in a heavily Air-force atmosphere and could name just about any plane in existence.

So it isn't as if I grew up in this 'Anti-Troops' kind of home xD
