Screw it, this is ready enough to post (maybe). Usual probably-stuffed-with-errors disclaimer applies

Wow, those last frames kicked me in the jiggly bits, took longer than I was expecting. Looks ok to me though (at last)

I hope, for part 4, I can finally start dragging some actual plot (...storyline, guys) into the mix. Crank things up a notch. We'll see.

They are taking a while, each of these comics. It's partially due to time (lack of) and partially due to my apparent inability to focus when time is available. Damnit, brain. What are you for? On to the next one.

Anyway, as before, big thanks to , , and for their designs of Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer respectively!

Visitors can check them out by clicking the thumbnails below:

So Chrome and Firefox are the main browsers and Chromia and Kindle are basically the leaders of the group?
Also hears some vague descriptions of the of these ponies:
Chromia: The witty one.
Kindle: ??? (possibly the general leader)
Pepsi: The normal one (basically the other one)
Saffire: The grumpy, sarcastic one
Ivy: The dumb one

Actually, no! I have tried it though. MLW was made entirely in Artrage Studio, Illustrator and Photoshop. Recently I've been tinkering with Manga Studio 5, that's proving pretty good but I don't think I could use it for this comic.

This is the page that REALLY got me into your stuff man.OwO The moment I saw those glowing rings in Ivy's eyes I was like "...what?"

Then I saw Pepsi's light trails and was like "...WHAT?!"

Then Saffire and Kindle's scene made me go "What?! WHAT?!"

And finally, the last scenes of them descending into the webpage turned me into Rainbow Dash going "Ohmygosh, Ohmygosh, Ohmygosh, Ohmygosh, OhmyGOSH!"

Congratulations ParallaxMLP, you now have my undivided attention.

Thanks very much for the feedback! I wish I could put stuff up more regularly. I hear scientists can pull images and video straight from the human brain now. Just need a perfected version of that in a commercial application and I can finally make comics as quick as everyone else seems to!

OOOOOOOOOH I WISH.XD

If it makes you feel better, I too struggle REALLY hard to crank out artworks. I'm actually working on one that's been in the workshop for MONTHS now. I HATE it when I do that. So don't feel bad, you're in good company when it comes to working at a snail's pace.

...Or as Chromia says: "Snails McYesterday!"XD

ParallaxMLP In reply to South-Williams [2014-07-15 21:30:48 +0000 UTC]

Haha! Well nice to know I'm not alone (although sorry you're feeling that frustration too) - I have nobody to blame but myself. I like doing the artwork, I just let myself get distracted too easily, and then I feel disappointed I didn't get any done (because I like doing it). Sigh.

South-Williams In reply to ParallaxMLP [2014-07-16 03:49:53 +0000 UTC]

I feel ya bro, I really do. The problem with me and my work is that at one stage of the project is a VERY taxing and time consuming method of drawing outlines.-_-; If it weren't for that, I'd be cranking out artworks in record time. But with having to draw ALL the lines with the paths tool in order to get the right curves, I end up taking a LOT of time and effort into it all. And that makes me not want to draw it any more...which leads to procrastinating... which then leads to distractions...

*sigh* I REALLY need to get my act together... Maybe the Adobe sisterhooves can help with that. here's hoping.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ParallaxMLP In reply to South-Williams [2014-07-16 17:53:50 +0000 UTC]

Definitely an effort/reward dynamic going on, isn't there! I don't like the early stages of laying down the characters (similar to outlines, except they're filled in with basic colour) or the background. It only gets satisfying when the image is starting to come together with all the shading and stuff

Adobe stuff is on my list.. somewhere, amongst the millions of other things, haha...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

South-Williams In reply to ParallaxMLP [2014-07-16 22:41:25 +0000 UTC]

In that case, let me give you a some suggestions for if ever you get around to them. I view the adobe products as like the apple family, because there are SO MANY of them.XD But since Flash(and probably a few others) was not originally made by Adobe, I'd consider her an adopted family member, but they would still love her all the same.^^

Speaking of your list, do you happen to have Avast Antivirus and/or Add Block Plus on there? Reading your webcomic got me so inspired to create two characters of my own to add to your cast. Since the cast so far is full of girls, I figured one or two boys would add a little spice.

Captain Ahab(Avast): (Still figuring out his name...) A charismatic, boisterous, web sailor. He works as a virus hunter, sailing the internet in his ship to hunt down big bad bugs. The biggest and baddest that he encounters he keeps in his "treasure chest" as trophies. He's a very skilled swordsmane, and loves getting attention for his work...especially from the ladies.

Adam (Add Block Plus): A soft spoken, but very dependable young stallion. He took up his father's job as a pop-up blocker and earns his keep by keeping webpages clean of adds and pop-up windows. He's not much of a fighter, but his defensive skills in erecting barriers for protection is unmatched by any other pony online.

both these guys have their eyes set on one mare in particular; Pepsi. However, no matter how hard Adam tries to impress Pepsi with his blocker skills, he either manages to goof-up for being so shy, or ends up getting over shadowed by the Captain's theatrical swordplay and virus wrangling.

Blimey, you put a lot of thought into that!! Nice! Some interesting ideas

From memory, I think Avast is on the list, yeah. Adblock... it's been asked, I think, but I'm not sure I wanted to implement an Ad-blocking character (this is due to the way I want browser extensions to work in the story).Β

Of course, none of it bloody matters if I can't get the comics done, haha. MORE DRAWING. I downloaded this time management thing which shames me into not wasting my evenings. So far so good

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

South-Williams In reply to ParallaxMLP [2014-07-17 23:18:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I love implementing stories to a character or plot device.^^ Its something I'm pretty good at.

I guess I'll need to think up something else to replace Adam, though its kinda hard to change what my mind is already set as when someone tells me "that's not how it works." Oh well, I'll think of something.

Captain: haHA, brilliant! NOW that majestic red maiden of the virtual sea is ALL mine!

Adam: H-Hey! You leave her alone! J-Just because I can't be Adblock doesn't mean I'm gonna get deleted!

Captain: hmmm... Quite right, young lad. I suppose it wouldn't be much of a challenge otherwise... Even if you ARE rather small in stature...

Adam: *grrrrrrr....*

Don't you worry about your comic mate, you'll get around to it. Rome wasn't built in a day, and very detailed and imaginative comic pages are no different.

Your art is great. but I think you are depicting IE wrong.

IE 11 is faster and more secure than FF , and it is only slightly slower than opera and chrome.
It has a very good pop-up blocking , good standards compliance , and great developer tools.(Β IE11 helped me nail down a css issue that I couldn't trace back so easily with a combination of Firefox and Firebug)

I think youΒ shouldΒ do an update , on IE perhaps ?Β

ParallaxMLP In reply to zapdos327 [2013-08-08 18:20:33 +0000 UTC]

I use Firefox, even though I've heard chrome is minutely faster.

And I really enjoyed these. Looking forward to the continuation of the series.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

10art1 In reply to ParallaxMLP [2013-06-20 14:59:04 +0000 UTC]

lol we're not really about comics (although IE and Firefox sometimes do short stories). Honestly I'm more of a dA person myself, but I think that for the purposes of roleplaying as a browser pony, tumblr is a better place. (Btw my tumblr is ask-googlechrome.tumblr.com)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ParallaxMLP In reply to 10art1 [2013-06-20 18:42:02 +0000 UTC]

Groovy! Yeah I agree, Tumblr is a better place for that I think. Seems to be the forum of choice for roleplaying characters

To be honest I try to avoid other MLW-related stuff and things involving the browser ponies (except for artwork, though it's not exactly easy to find). I desperately want to see what's out there, I know there are Tumblrs and fictions etc, but I DO NOT want to be influenced in what I'm doing with Websurfers. So it's a horrible, lonely self-induced isolation for me haha.

For example, I *did* just take a peek at your tumblr, and I saw Chromia using her jewel as a sort of utility device. That's fucking awesome, I love that idea. But now I feel awkward that I've seen it and want to use the idea in the comics! (If I do, I'd have to credit you for that idea, it's great... already know where/why she might want to use that ability in the Websurfers story too)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

10art1 In reply to ParallaxMLP [2013-06-20 21:20:07 +0000 UTC]

Absolutely you can use it lol. To be honest I only came up with that idea when my friend BowtieMod (the guy who doesΒ  ask-chrome-pony.tumblr.com/Β told me that she was given that device by Google Co. as an identification device). I kinda agree dA is lonely because in my time on dA I only met 1 really good friend and it was through him that I met a bunch of new people. If it wasn't for him I'd still be forever alone. On tumblr however as soon as I started my tumblr (with BowtieMod's permission) I got to meet the mods of ask-firefox, ask-internetexplorer, ask-safaripony, ask-google-pony, and ask-skype-pony, so it was really fun. I know the dA websurfer ponies and tumblr browser ponies are different (for example on tumblr IE and Firefox both hate me, IE has a dirty mouth, and Safari is super nice and friendly) but it would be great if we can shoot some ideas around to make things better. Right now I really have nothing so I'm animating thisΒ  www.youtube.com/watch?v=airT-m...Β with Chrome as Abbott and IE as Costello :b
