Description
The older regions of any network were always more interesting to her, and this one was proving no exception. There was none of that heavily abstracted, multi-layered nonsense she regularly dealt with. Not here. A simple place with simple aesthetics, content could be found in plain sight here, quietly awaiting processing - not wrapped in the awkward tinsel of elaborate markup languages and difficult scripts. This browsing experience was much more relaxing. In its own simplistic way, it was deeper, and more meaningful. There was no reason to travel this way. No need to take such a long way round, past all the old and obsolete data, their relevance long since lost on the modern world. But as the warm light of the digital sun set in the distance, and the gentle glow of the webscape took over, she strolled onwards in silent appreciation. Onwards, down the Yellow-Bit Road.
More Pepsi/Opera! Here you go. This started as a fairly basic image (just Pepsi on her own)... then I got carried away. I need to let it go though, got other stuff to do. So here it is, as is!
What would it be like to ignore the directions of the Internet's various routers and switchgear, and take an old pathway, once buzzing with activity but long abandoned, to reach your destination? I like to think, were you to visualise it, that such a route would look fairly low-res and pixelated (and awesome). Not unlike the original Tron, I suppose
2880x1800 res, let me know if you need bigger though (can't imagine why!).
Low-light images are tricky. In the draft phase there was nothing about this image which looked right but I'm fairly happy to let it go now. If I don't I'll just waste more time tweaking things, and there's Websurfer comics to finish...

A ponification of the Raspberry Pi would be magnificent.
Of course, if you'd rather not, that's fine too... please

Thanks!! But I think it would be really boring, heh. A lot of fiddling with tiny, inconsequential parts of the art interspersed with random visits to random websites because I'm not very well focused/became frustrated with whatever I was drawing...

You should ponify YouTube! Or Minecraft, or Nintendo, or...
I really must stop rambling like this.
Btw, anyone know how to make the really tiny letters?

Would it be rude if I asked if there was a version of this without Opera? I don't want to offend you I just think the scenery itself is awesome. sorry ;-;

Then the road turns 90 degrees to a vertical cliff-face, and there's a construction sign (complete with flashing orange lights) that says "Error 404"

You should make something similar with Chromia and Chromebooks or perhaps Kindle and the Firefox OS phones!

There's always value in simplicity, no matter how advanced technology gets. Simpler things are easier to handle and less likely to break.
Oh, and the pic is great, too.

I really love how you make the environment look organic as opposed to that all too common style of having circuits, projections, and raw data imitating organic objects.

Excellent. And I would imagine visiting the older areas of the net would be relaxing for digital entities with a more old-fashioned bent. I doubt Chromia/Chrome or Kindle/Firefox would like such places that much.

Opera Pony aside, I really do love the atmosphere of this piece, and the stroll through an old pathway.... who wouldn't want to take the old road now and then? It can be an adventure to the past, memories long forgotten, but an experience of which the newer generation of pony shall never see!

I love how you depict browsers. The whole "let's go on an adventure on something as common as the Internet nowadays" is reallly amazing, it makes you feel like the Internet is a living thing, a world full of adventure and interesting encounters rather than just a bunch of copper cables that connect metal boxes with blinking lights.
I really like your work on these things and want to thank you for sharing!
