Not gonna lie, people... I reeeally want to call her "Plusenta".
anyway, new OC to go with the rest!OK, this was just to vent a little frustration. Just a quick one! God damnit, YouTube is screwed up these days. You know I wouldn't even mind so much (don't really post many videos or comments) except for the friggin' dialogue box that pops up asking me whether this time I maybe wanna sign in with my real name instead of my alias account.
NO. I DO NOT. STOP IT. STOP ASKING.
WHERE is the checkbox saying "Never ask me this question again, die dialogue box, die, I hate you."?
I actually rather like Google+ ON ITS OWN but this integration has been very badly handled... and really would want to minimise use of my real name online anyway. You know, as common sense dictates?!!

I hate the fact it's forced on people. I haven't been able to comment on any video with my main account for a week now (except for ONE video that miraculously managed to hold onto the old comments)

I am also extremely frustrated by Youtube constantly asking me to change my username, and then every time I click no, it responds with "Okay, we'll ask you again later." SCREW THAT. If I didn't change my username the first 50 times, TAKE THE BLOODY HINT! I don't use my real name on Youtube because there are people who have the power to cause me a lot of grief who strongly disapprove of bronies. If I used my real name, I could never comment on a MLP video ever again without running the risk of bringing a great deal of grief down on my head. SOMETIMES PEOPLE HAVE A REASON THAT THEY WANT TO BE ANONYMOUS, YOUTUBE!

In all seriousness, once they work out the problems it'll be OK. It doesn't solve the whole indignation of having G+ shoved down everyone's throats, or some people losing their subs and playlists, but the rest of the problems are certainly fixable with some tweaking.

the problem is that you have to make a G+ account in order to much of anything on youtube anymore.

that and the fact that the new comment system uses replies to move comments to the top of the comment section, which wouldn't be so bad if not for a good number of people having insults or death threats be the first thing they see when they want to check the comments on their vids.

Good ideas poorly implemented, the real problem is the terrible userbase. Β The comments aren't unusable because of the new layout, they're unusable because every other comment is someone whining about how things are different now who thinks ascii spam will somehow force Google to change their mind.

I think I have to agree with ~Night-Shine-Brony here... that feels like circular logic to me. Besides, you gotta build your system to handle your userbase, not hope they will use it how you want, because they WILL find ways to abuse the system, either deliberately or accidentally. This is system design 101, and issues like that are supposed to be detected and ironed out before moving to production, but for some reason they haven't considered it for this project.
Even if, for argument's sake, people stop posting ASCII dicks in protest, the problem is not resolved. People not complaining still won't fix the security or useability issues with the new system. There are real problems inherent in the design, the mess made by outraged users is just a distraction from these issues.

I just don't understand why they continue to add features when some of the simple functions such as the ability for playback is brocken. Remove dash playback first before adding stupid features

(I'm sure you already know this, so for the benefit of anyone who doesn't) You can turn off DASH to go back to the old YouTube streaming method with browser extensions!! Like "YouTube Center" :Β github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenteβ¦
Although if you're on Chrome I don't imagine this will work after January when Google "do a YouTube" and ban 3rd-party browser extensions!

Oh dear. I've only heard of this 3rd-party browser extension ban only today. It looks like I'm going to have to move to Firefox just to watch youtube the right way (or they could just remove dash playback). While there is an internet explorer version of youtube center, I never quite got it to work

I was having a delightful argument with some people somewhere else on the Internet who were adamant that it could only be a good thing how Google were banning 3rd party extensions because, surely, anyone who wanted control over their own web browser was doing something illegitimate like downloading YouTube videos or who-the-fuck-knows-what.
Unbelievably, some people really do think it's a good idea. Maybe there are extensions on the chrome web store which still allow you to modify YouTube's appearance and disable DASH, but I've yet to spot one. Of course, it's not like I've looked recently, so there's that...

LOL so true! I didn't really care to check out Google+ when it came out because I don't care that much for social media (at all) and it was annoying every time it tried to change my YouTube account to use my real name and such. Except this time, with the new update, it just ASSUMED I wanted to join Google+ soooo badly, I was just shy about it. So the next time the dialog box popped up asking me which name I wanted to use for Youtube and Google+, I clicked the X button and it still created a Google+ account for me... Thank you...

I hate the fact that top comments no longer have meaning, all mine no longer show up, there seems to be now 'show comment' button now, along with stupid expanding thing that sends viruses and then people can post the whole script for Brave heart. And finally my pet hate, WHERE'S THE DAMN MARK AS SPAM OR REPORT BUTTONS?! GOD DAMN IT! Sorry, all I've been seeing ALL day is 'if you do not repost this your parents will die in 5 years' or things such as that.
