Description
The lineart for this piece was done by [link]I really liked the seemingly open feeling I got from this picture and attempted to color it. Did I use the right colors for the airplane?
This picture is the original, but a duplicate can be viewed at 's club here: [link]
I like how this one came out

Thank you . I've never been entirely sure about the color of the jet, but no one has ever really commented about it

~Did you inter anything for the contest?
Not for this contest, maybe in a future contest when I have more time (though it seems like it would be rather unfair to have a club moderator enter anything other than a promotional picture ). I'm waiting for ~UltimeciaFFB to come up with a joke or "Finish that episode" kind of contest.
Some of my personal favorites (if I could enter them myself): [link] , *Didj had some awesome comics, but he took them down, and I don't think he would appreciate me reposting his work, and one of my own ideas (drawn by ~arielle here: [link] ) except that there would be a "returns" sign above his head and I'll have to repositoin the box (this is of course when I get some real free time again, which could be months from now )

'Finish that episode' sounds fun. I don't think its unfair for a mod to enter.

~'Finish that episode' sounds fun I'll definitely mention it to ~UltimeciaFFB then
. Though if things go as I see them right now, the "Cyborg Max7 Returns" pic would probably be the promotional picture
(and I figured out today that if I have a program read my reading homework aloud [rather then me reading it off the screen], then I can work on art while doing my homework
, I've got everything except a couple of the black parts on Cyborg colored on the pic
).
~I don't think its unfair for a mod to enter
Alright, if I come up with some more ideas for pictures, I'll draw them out and enter 'em .

IC there are other programs though I've used a few but usually when I'm not coloring with photoshop I'm using coloring pencils

Yeah, colored pencils are easy to use, but there's no way to correct stuff easily if you make a mistake (I colored BB's shirt green, and I wasn't able to change it: [link] , though now that I think about it, I suppose I could alter it with PS at some point ). What other programs do you use? (Before I got my current version of Photoshop, I was using a "lite" version of Photoshop for layers and MS Word for curved lines
; compared to what I do now, I'm surprised I got anything done
)

Lite photoshop? What is that before 7

Photoshop Elements, it came free with my scanner. It doesn't have the ability to draw paths, so I was continuously drawing curvy lines in Word and then copying them over to Photoshop . Yeah, way before 7

oh so you couldn't use the paint brush to draw. That is painful

Well, I could use the paint brush, but with a mouse (vs a tablet which I don't have), my lines would always come out really crooked (you can see it in the way the heair is drawn: [link] [I hope you don't mind me providing examples when I'm talking about the way I draw, for some reason I feel like I'm advertising or something ]). With the curvy lines in Word, at least it wouldn't be blatently obvious I was doing most of the work by hand (compared to how long it takes me to make say... a face now with the current tools, and back then, there was a lot more manual effort just to make it seem reasonable...)

I can't click on that link for some reason. I do lines with the paint brush and a mouse. it's not fun. I scan the stuff I draw and color it wiht photoshop to get around this problem. But i do know some who paints with the mouse and is verry good.

~I can't click on that link for some reason
Gah! I swear there is something wrong with the Ctrl key on my computer, for some reason, the computer didn't register me picking up the link into my clipboard, so it used the last link I had in there from before (and this problem with the ctrl key has been behind a few errors with the tt club as well ) Anyway, the link was supposed to be: [link]
~But i do know some who paints with the mouse and is verry good.
Yeah, I think the trick is to really expand your image before you work on it (even though I'm not using the mouse, I always quadruple the height and the width on an image before I draw anything [and then scale it back down when I'm done]). I've also gotten a little lazy recently, and I've found a way to take a scanned image and use the outlines directly, rather than redrawing them myself (which would actually make it look a fair bit neater, but it takes too much time [this new way heavily relies on the mouse though])

that link came out good. I change the blending options for the line art layer from there everything should be fine.
she use do do this with a mouse that is killer [link]

~I change the blending options for the line art layer from there everything should be fine Yeah, I've been tampering with that idea recently too, though it never seems to look as crisp as a cell shaded picture
~she use do do this with a mouse that is killer, somehow, I still can't believe people spend that kind of time on one picture, and to do it by mouse is even more impressive (I keep thinking that most artists use tablets)

she's just really good... try putting the line art at the bottom copy it and set the copy to multiply.
Put two layers between it one called flat color and one calles shade/highlight or somthing. That's how I got my last picture colored.

Alas, it looks like colored pencil, but it is not. I took Ravenscape's pencil drawing into Photoshop and then used the airbrush tool to color the picture. I wish I could draw even remotely like Ravenscape. And don't forget to check out the original here: [link]
