HURURUIOH*SADOIHISHFDOISH| I HAVE BEEN IN AN ENCLOSURE WITH WOLVES!!!!!!OUH!OUH!OIH YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT U R TALKIN ABOUT RETARD! WOLVES ARE LOVING AND GENTLE NOT DANGEROUS!!!! FUCK YOU WOLF HATER!!!!I am beyond sick of these retards. I dare you to go out and play with a pack of wild ones. You will probably be another headline splashed across page one about someone getting killed by wolves. But they if they are so loving and gentle, you should not have anything to worry about.
Look at Candice Berner's story. They are not so gentle and loving are they? She was jogging and they attacked her because she was something that did not have horns, claws or fangs. She was easy dinner. They did not do it out of 'revenge' because she was a trapper. They did not do it because they were pissed off, they did it because that is how they are programmed. They are predators. This goes for ANY predator. It is how they are programmed.
'
This also goes out to hybrids. It is the wolf in them that causes them to have that looming threat.
[link] <- known fatal wolf attacks on humans.
No, I do not hate wolves. I like wolves pretty well but I know what they are unlike these uneducated twits who act like they know everything about them. IE. Self-proclaimed wolf expert!
HEY! The Drama Llama paid me a visit!

It all depends. Especially a hybrid because of a lot of comments from people saying they had a fine life living with humans. : P
Just claiming that they will 100% be dangerous doesn't sound right. xD

yes wolves are dangerous especially wild. EVEN AS PETS *clears throat loudly and points to comment below* but, they can be bread with dogs and become less dangerous but they are still part wild animal. Yes, that would make one hell of a guard dog but it still has the threat of attacking you. Yes i love wolves but i would never deny the fact that they are very dangerous. BUT! then again so are tigers but people are still working to save them because they are important parts of nature and help with population control.

No they are not cuddly bunnies, but they will normally ignore humans unless they have a sickness, like rabies or something. Or if you threaten them. This is the cause of the wolf attacks, sickness and abuse.Β

Dark-Hyena In reply to sniffla2 [2014-03-26 20:21:25 +0000 UTC]
Actually, most non-rabid attacks were due to wolves treating humans as prey, not threats.

Wolves actually are pretty cowardly when it comes to protecting family. They will most likely run if humans are in their territory, and people have been able to take pups from a den and the wolves with stand there and whine.
I love wolves, a lot, but, when they do attack humans, it seems to be more predatory then protective.Β

I believe that, instead of persecuting people for their beliefs (even if they are ridiculous sometimes), you should just let them suffer for their inaccuracies. Leave wolves alone, 99.9 percent of the time (with the exception of those afflicted with rabies and other such diseases) they will do the same. Peace out.

If I have to be honest I don't like the killing of wolf.
If they are too many fine. But right now the wolfΒ packsΒ in sweden is shrinking.. soon none left.
And the hunters keep (Tuturing) the wolves. Such as running them over with a scotter, banging them with a plank to the head. One of the worst isΒ a sponge that they soak in blood, then wait for the wolf to eat it.. Suffocating to Death.
Β
And there is more hogs killing humans andΒ (hunting dogs) then wolves.Β They are not bad just missunderstod. Sure they sometimes go on rampage and kills wayΒ more then they should, AND that is something I don't like at all. But often this isΒ (some) wolves.
Β
What im trying to say is that we seriously should come up with some sort of plan to all of this. All this talk about wolfaboos and antiwolfaboos or whatever you call them should stop. Both the anti and the wolflovers have some realistic fact. I just hope we can keep our wolves in sweden

The methods you describes aren't the one's used by hunters. That sounds more like the work of poachers. Wolf hunting is usually only legal in areas where there are to much of them. If a wolf population is to low thanks to humans, it is usually the work of poachers, not hunters.

Fair enough, as long as you aren't claiming that wolves are evil beings then I am fine. They usually only attack if cornered or starving etc. etc. but sure they can still kill humans for none of the usual reasons.

If wolves become used to humans or live near humans, they will get closer and closer and might attack if sick, protecting their territory, or maybe starving. They become used to people after a while. Wolves that have never met a human before are unlikely to attack.

Same,, like I love them a little too much (SUCH AS CREATING AN ACCOUNT ON A GAME WITH ALL WOLVES IK THAT'S NOT MUCH BUT WTF) but yesh. They might also of attacked her 'cause she was in their territory? Any way wolves DO NOT pose a threat to humans usually unless the human does something wrong or gets to close. Not trying to be a smarty ass but that's just how I think of it. Β And that decline or sheepus in your flock farmer man? Might NOT of been a wolf. Any wolves help us, and losing them would cause so many bad things... but one I can think of is over populating with SICKNESS. Wolves eat the sick, old & weak ones. If they didn't Β they'd breed and have more sick ones... causing too many sick and weak elks. same with bunneh wabbits

Shall I give you proof my dear?
"Patricia Wyman, age 24, was attacked and killed on April 18, 1996 by five grey wolves while working in the Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve, Ontario."
"That night the Delventhals decided to sleep out under the stars. Young Zachariah was dreaming when he suddenly felt excruciating pain in his face. A lone wolf had bit him in the face and was dragging him from his sleeping bag. Zach screamed and Tracy, Zach's Mother, raced to his side and picked him up, saturating her thermal shirt with blood from Zach's wounds."
"Humans have been attacked by wolves in Alaska. The late David Tobuk carried scars on his face from a wolf attack on him as a small child. The incident occurred around the turn of the century in interior Alaska. David was playing in his village near a river. An old wolf came into the village and bit David in the face and started to carry him off. Other Eskimos saw the wolf dragging the child off and started yelling and screaming. The wolf dropped the child and was shot by an old Eskimo trapper who had a gun. (Interview with Frank Tobuk, brother, Bettles, Alaska, December 1988.)"
"Icy Bay, Alaska - Six-year-old John Stenglein and a nine-year-old friend were playing outside his family's trailer at a logging camp when a wild wolf came out of the woods towards the boys. The boys ran and the wolf attacked young Stenglein from the back, biting him on the back and buttocks. Adults, hearing the boy's screams, came and chased the wolf away. The wolf returned a few moments later and was shot. According to Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) officials, the wolf was a healthy wild wolf that apparently attacked without provocation. The boy was flown to Yakutat and recieved stitches there for his wounds. Later, however, the bites became infected and the boy had to be hospitalized. (Reports and Interviews on file and available upon request.)"

Wolves aren't overgrown puppies. They are wild creatures, and as such are dangerous and unpredictable. They don't think like humans, as much as we all wish they did. As far as they are concerned, we are either prey or predators. Stories about wolves who act like and think like humans is all well and good, but still stories nonetheless.

To be able to own a wolf, you would need a wildlife permit. To own a wildlife permit, you need to study wolves--their behavior, their anatomy, all that--and work with wolves under strict supervision, which can take anywhere between 15-30 years to complete. Even with that, you need to have your local wildlife services come by to ensure you have a legal enclosure, plenty of space to keep the wolf so it can run around and explore as it chooses, but not be able to escape. This requires two rows of chain-link fencing that go several feet below ground so they can't dig their way out, as well as a high wall structure with a chain-link ceiling so they can't jump or climb their way out. Also, some sort of den within the enclosure so they have somewhere to sleep when it rains and snows is required. If you live in the middle of a big city without a lot of land available, then I suggest moving to the countryside. Without all these enclosure criteria met (and they're required by law), you'll be forced to keep your pet in a wildlife reserve or a zoo. You also need to be able to give them a steady supply of meat, since dog food will make them violently sick. Some sort of red meat is best, but if you can't afford feeding your wolf three family-packs of steak per meal every day, whole frozen poultry (chicken, turkey, etc.) will work. If you by chance decide to take it out on a walk, a regular leash will not do--they'll chew through those in seconds. You need a chain leash to walk your wolf, and be sure to take care of that chain--if it rusts, all it needs to do is give one good tug and they're loose. You also need to train it to at least obey commands, though training it not to snarl when people look into its eyes or to ignore neighborhood dogs and other potential prey items (cats, squirrels, small children, etc.) are also very important. There's more to it than just that, but I can't think of anything further.
Think you can handle that?
(this is assuming you live in an area where wolf ownership is legal in the first place, by the way)

Do you know how ignorant you sound. They arent pets. They are wild animals. They are unpredictable. Your mother is a smart lady. Chances are the wolf would kill you or another family member. Plus I believe it is illegal to obtain a wolf as a pet. And clearly based on your profile you don't know shit, you think the plural of wolves is "wolfs" Honey take your head out of your ass, they are wild animals. Not Pets. they will never be pets. They kill and attack.

But lets face it wolves are meat eaters, just as us If they are hungry and there is a deffensless human in the Woods it might be so that the wolf goes to attack. We humans do the same but to other animals, what makes it more right for a human to kill I wonder
