Description
ImageFinally after a very long absence I got out with my camera again, and what an evening and subject to start with. I now reside in Saltash a small town just across the Tamar to Plymouth in Southwest UK. The intesting looking structure is the Royal Albert Bridge, a railway bridge that spans over the river to join Devon and Cornwall. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1855 a man responsible for the most advanced and incredible engineering projects of the 19th Century. He is well worth looking up [link]
Conditions really improved as the sunset, after the week had already produced some great light it looked promising, after waiting and trying numerous compositions I decided the best way to capture the scene was a massive panorama (as you do) This shot consists of 7 vertical images equalling to around 35mp.

Very solid shot here. Nice use of the perspective distortion and great capture all over with colors and light.

great image! I live in Saltash, though due to move soon. You may want to go out this Thursday - the sunset is supposed to be a good one due to the recent eruption..

Thanks, well everything is new for me here, just trying to find my way around. I've been heading out at sunset on my bike but I've already run out of places to go! Where are you moving to?

Excellent image, loving that sky, and the boats showing the scale of the bridge. Probably would have cropped the right as Stephen mentioned.

It is distracting I agree however the image looks more unbalanced with it cropped out and the bridge looks like it would fall over...

Gorgeous scene and I just love the colours in the sky and the reflected colouring in the water.

I hope to shoot more of the boats in the near future, especially when the water is still.

I did play around with the crop but the bridge just looks like its floating and looks odd.

Great shot. Have driven over this bridge a few times, but have never seen it look this good.
