Description Common Name: Bactrian Camel
Common Name Synonyms: Two-Humped Camel, Oriental Camel, Havtagai
Scientific Name: Camelus bactrianus
Size: 180-230cm tall in the shoulders without the hump. Males are 10% larger than females. 225-300cm from snout to tail.
Classification: Artiodactyl Ungulate
Habitat: Deserts, Savanna, Mountains
Diet: Omnivorous; A diet consisted of grass, cactuses, wildflowers, shrubs, carrion, and even other man-made objects that are made out of wool.
Description: Wild Bactrian Camels are one of the most endangered species of camel, and for the differences between them and domesticated Bactrian camels, they have shorter wools, smaller conical humps, flatter head, and slightly smaller than the domesticated ones. These camels are one of the mammals that can eat snow, to provide itself in the winter. In history to today, the Bactrian Camels' predators are tigers and wolves. Wild Bactrian camels can drink saltwater, but domesticated ones don't. We're not sure if the Bactrian Camel is one of the beasts of burden in the Bible? Because these omnivorous saltwater-drinking ungulates are native in Central Asia, from India to Mongolia. People studied about why camels comes to Asia and Africa, possibly that the first camels appeared in North America, but the first camels are more like a crossbreed between a gazelle and a llama.
