Scientific Name: Gazella bennettii
Size: 65cm tall in the shoulders, 97.5cm long
Classification: Artiodactyl Ungulate

Description: Poorly known, the chinkaras are shy, and avoid human habitation. They can go without water for long periods and can get sufficient fluids from plants and dew. Although most are seen alone, they can sometimes be spotted in groups of up to four animals. They share their habitat with several other herbivores, such as the nilgais, blackbucks, water buffaloes, wild goats, and wild boars. The predators of this gazelle, are tigers, leopards, cheetahs, dholes, dingoes, wolves, and jackals. Chinkaras are native in the deserts and savannas of Pakistan, Iran, and India. Is it possible, that the chinkara strongly look-alike that of the African Thompson gazelle?
