Scientific Name: Eupleres goudotii
Size: 10-12.5cm tall in the shoulders, 45-65cm from snout to tail-base + 20-25cm long tail = 65-90cm from snout to tail.
Classification: Feliform
Habitat: Savannas, Forests, Jungles
Diet: Insectivorous; diet consisted of larvae, slugs, snails, worms
Description: Falanoucs are more like the "Aardwolves of Madagascar," because they have weaker and conical teeth, which they can eat most of the invertebrates, like worms, larvae, slugs, snails, and even earthworms, while the aardwolves only eat termites. These cat-like creatures are the carnivores in appearances, strongly resembled a mongoose, with long foxlike muzzle, stocky body, non-retractable claws, and the tail that can store fat for 25% body weight, like that of Malagasy civets. We all know there's 2 species, besides the eastern falanouc, there's another species of Eupleres who used to be the eastern falanouc's subspecies, the western falanouc(Eupleres major).
