Description: Elusive and nocturnal, native to Europe, the European martens make their own dens, in grassy fields, or in hollow trees. They are really good climbers, but they can hunt on the ground. They are territorial animals, and they mark on their territories with poop. The marten's poop are black and twisted, often confused with the fox's. As they are threatened by humans who hunted them for their fur, and their habitat loss, they have predators besides humans, are eagles, wild cats, graey wolves, and red foxes.
