Description: Kipling depicted that you know who? Baloo was a "sleepy brown bear," because he depict that he looked like a Himalayan brown bear(Ursus arctos isabelline), than a real sloth bear. We know that Baloo teaches the wolf pups and his challenging pupil Mowgli, the Laws of the Jungle, which he doesn't compete with wolves, but he would rather eat the roots, fruits, and nuts. Moon and brown bears don't occur in the Seoni area, but sloth bears do. Sloth bears are native to the Indian subcontinents, which they are the real bears of The Jungle Book. Unlike male bears, which they can even kill their pups while their wives are not around, male sloth bears can be very gentle to their pups, as they lived with their wives. As they say, sloth bears are very social in pairs, or even in a group called sleuths. These bears can fight each other for food, possibly. They moved in a slow and shambling motions, but their feet are being set down in a noisy and flapping motions. All sloth bears appear to make them look slow and clumsy, even for adults and pups, but they are excellent climbers. Mother bears can carry their pups, instead of sending them to the trees, as primary defense against predators, like tigers, leopards, brown, moon, sun, and even other sloth bears. Their names comes from their similar appearance to a not-so-related sloth(like three-toed, two-toed, and ground sloths), which their claws are long and sickle-shaped, and their slow motions when walking, but they are capable of galloping more faster than humans, but NOT as fast as cheetahs and other animals who are faster than sloth bears. Their claws are used for digging the termite mounds, and for defense, and for fighting. Like Bagheera said to Mowgli, from the live-action Disney film The Jungle Book(2016), that sloth bears don't hibernate in the jungle, but they can make beds out of broken branches of the trees, and rest in caves during the wet seasons. Their enemies, besides other bears, are rhinoceroses, elephants, tigers, leopards, dholes, and even golden jackals, and striped hyenas. Rarer enemies are wolves for example. When feeding their pups, the sows had reportedly regurgitate a mixture of half-digested jackfruit, wood apples, and pieces of honeycomb. The sticky substance is hardened into a dark-yellowish, circular bread-like mass, which fed to their pups, which this bread-like food is called the "Bear's Bread." The bear's bread is considered a delicacy for some of India's natives.
