Diet: Herbivorous, diet consisted of leaves and fruits. Rare diet consisted of flowers, and eggs.
Description: One of the largest of the new world monkeys, the howler monkey spends time in the trees in groups of 6-15 monkeys. They have enlarged hyoid bones, so they can use deep guttural growls or "howls" with others in a communication way. The howlers had been known to be the loudest land animals in Earth. These monkeys are aggressive, which they don't take captivity. Black Howlers(Alouatta caraya) are pet monkeys in Argentina, due to their gentle nature, compared to the famous capuchin monkeys' aggressive tendencies, in spite of its lesser intelligence, as well as the liabilities meant by the size of its droppings and the males' loud vocalizations.
