Description Common Name: Mandrill
Common Name Synonyms: Mandrill Baboon
Scientific Name: Mandrillus sphinx
Size: 75-95cm from head to tail, 55-65cm tall in the shoulders. Males are 5cm more larger than females
Classification: Primate
Habitat: Jungles,
Diet: Omnivorous, fruits, leaves, soil, barks, stems, invertebrates, eggs, birds, tortoises, frogs, porcupines, rats
Description: Not only the most brightly colored mammal in the world, but the Mandrill is one of the largest of all monkeys(NOT apes). Males are brightly colored than females, because, A: they are dominant in their harem pack, which the important part of the pack, was a male alpha. B: He declares his identity to other animals, as well as announcing his sex and virility to females. Mandrills are mostly terrestrial, but they are more arboreal than other baboons, and they can feed as high as the canopy. Males-only bachelor groups are highly rare, but this was not known to exist. The mandrill's predators are eagles, vipers, pythons, and leopards. Although mandrills looked a lot like baboons, but the mandrills are more closely related to white-eyelid mangabeys, than them.
