Description: A close relative to the tiger, snow leopard, lion, and leopard, by genetics, the jaguar is South America's apex predator, rivaled with the puma(aka mountain lion, cougar, brown panther, etc.), and New World's only living panther alive. Rarely depicted as United States's only wild panther, they lived from South USA, to the south of Argentina. Before this spotted cat was an apex predator, other apex predators are including the American Lion(Panthera leo atrox) and the Saber-Tooth Cabbit(Smilodon californiacus) ruled America during the Ice Age as 3 big cats are America's Kings of the Beasts. Do you know that jaguars are the feliforms in 2nd place as the one with the strongest jaws, after the spotted hyena, but before 2 brown bears(one was the Brown Bear(Ursus arctos), and the other is the Grizzly Bear(Ursus horribilis). They have similar behaviors to tigers, except their attacks to humans are extremely rare. Jaguars and leopards looked a lot like each other, although closely related to each other, but the jaguar is bigger, and muscular, big-headed, short-legged, and short-tailed than the leopard. Plus their rosettes had central spots inside the rosettes, to make the jaguar complete spotted. More often than not, some jaguars are born black, to make it into big black panthers, which they are called "black panthers." White jaguars are extremely rare variations, to look like a white tiger, but with spots all over them. As one of the 3rd largest cats, after the lion and the tiger, it had the name, comes from the Native American word "yaguarette" means, "the one who kills with one bound," because the jaguars can kill prey with a strong bite, to crack their prey's skulls, really hard, like spotted hyenas crack the bones to eat. We've seen the jaguars for many myths and legends in the indigenous American cultures, like Maya, and Aztec.
