Description: The close relative to the African Civet(Civettictis civetta), the Large Indian Civet is little bit known, but they are nocturnal and solitary. They spend most of the times on the ground. These civets are native to Southeast Asia, from northeast India, to Singapore, to China, for example. Civets produce their musk, so they are used as their perfume. World Animal Protection, expresses the concern that harvesting musk is cruel to animals. Very poorly known about what predators that these large Indian civets have, besides humans, are dholes, leopards, tigers, and clouded leopards for example.
