Entry one for the SushiDogs DTA! I fell in love with Octopus cupcakes the moment I laid eyes on the little guy, so I knew right away I had to try my luck and submit an entry for them!!Featuring my one and only soosh, Emmett, who doesn't take to water very well...
My headcannons for this cute little dude:
His name is Tidepool and he loves to explore! His octopus hat (his animal companion) can portray expressions and act as his eyes in certain situations. His special power is to bring candy to life (suggested by RainyStardrops ). He often brings the gummy octopi on his tail to life to help guide him. All three have seperate personalities and trains of thought: The red one is usually curious, while the other two are hesitant and pessimistic. These little animal friends act as guides and, in some cases, his consciences. While Tidepool loves to travel to new places and learn all about mysterious creatures, he doesn't usually think through things before executing dangerous stunts, often getting him injured.

Another nice entry including Octopus Cupcakes, I like watch him swimming under water. His Soosh buddy looks nice too. And - I really adore the story of this character, mostly this part about octopus companion. What's a interesting idea.

I really adore the use you came up with for the octopus companion/alive hat, it's ingenious yet comical! I can see a load of dual expression potentials with it - that would be so fun to see! Poor Emmett though, he might take a bit more practice to get used to diving under the waves!

This is so so so cute! I love the softness of everything, and your art style just looks so good with sooshes!
I wanted to let you know that the octopus hat is actually the animal companion for that guy! His designer confirmed it in the discord, since some people were confused. ^^ I love the idea of the little babies being guides and having their own personalities, so maybe if you haven't decided on a power yet, you could make it to where he can make candy come to life?
Anyways, I love the personality and how alive this piece feels. I super duper wish you luck in the DTA!

Yeah! You can probably ask about switching it around since I'm not too certain how strict they are with the animal companion trait, but just to be safe ;v; When they let us know the hat was a companion I was surprised because I didn't notice it myself! I thought by now it'd be stated somewhere to let everyone know but I think it still hasn't been..
