Description
Most of the work in my galery is sad, sullen or serious, so it was nice to draw a picture of someone smilling for a change
The reference for this piece came from an exceptionally tallented and famous photographer James Houston, known for photographing celebritys, fashion and advertisments - check out his website here houstonphoto.com/
The drawing took forever, I think I would cry if I counted up all the hours, but i will take a guess at 40+, a largish drawing measuring 45cm X 35 cm on Bristol Board smooth. Drawn with range of Faber-Castell 9000 pencils from 4H through to 8B - a whole 8B in fact, Tomo Mono Zero eraser and a blending stick.

it will be hard to beat the is this piece of art work, this is absolutely astonishing!!!! i love black and white, you should do a swimmer just coming out of the water during a butterfly stroke, that would be an amazing water works piece for you. anyway love everything about your work, I am very inspired by it.

this is most definitely the best I've seen with pencil art. there isn't more realistic than this.

Hey do you have any videos online. I'm always trying to improve on my work I feel I could pick up some tips from watching you.

I have not finished any videos - it is something I really want to do, but never seem to get around to it - besides I normally draw one piece over several weeks - making it logistically difficult to set up - i have played with the idea of doing some live video streaming - maybe using periscope?
