I am so tired-so tired-of regular anime/manga fans getting dissed because they like manga/anime. And I'm so freaking tired of being called a weeaboo because I enjoy manga/anime. (Well, technically just manga. I'm not really into anime.)
--
Now presenting, the "Know Your Weeaboo" guide. (If you want to use this guide, just credit me.
Basic Weeaboo Symptons
1. You always add Japanese words to your English sentence, thus making it Japanglish.
2. Whenever someone mentions a Japanese food like Ramen, you shout, "RAMEN IS DUH BOMB! NARUTO AGREES!" However, if someone is to mention Tempura w/noodles, you say, "I don't know what that is." (For all of you who haven't played FoMT, Tempura is a Japanese food. That's all I can say, because I'm too lazy to go into detail.
3. Anime/Manga is your life. (Note: You're not a weeaboo if you say you love manga/anime. You're a weeaboo if you are so obsessed with the series that you spend countless hours on a Saturday night on Crunchyroll, watching every single fucking anime-ones that you don't even like, just so you can say, "Oh yeah, I saw all 12 episodes of that one. ____ is so HAWT!")
4. You have no idea what 'wa' or 'ka' or even 'desu' means. (Trust me, I still meet people that think 'desu' means cute. WTF? And there are some people that think 'domo' means thank you. WTF? Domo was a cute little show, though.
Questions From The Curious Not-Weeaboo
What is a weeaboo?
Well, there are two definitions. There is the idiot definition, and the real definition.
First off, the idiot definition:
According to a retard, if you like anything Japanese, (i.e., Pocky, Ramen, manga, anime) "U R A STOOPID WEEABOO THAT SHOULD DIE!11" Yes, even if you mention anything about Japan, YOU ARE AN AUTOMATIC WEEABOO.
The actual definition:
A weeaboo is a person who is so obsessed with Japan and the Japanese culture that they dis their own country, they act like their Asian, and they attempt to speak Japanese.
I speak Japanese. Am I a weeaboo?
Depends. Do you know what the particle 'wa' means? Do you know why a question uses the particle 'ka'? Do you know what 'desu' actually means?
To answer your question, 'wa' is a particle that can be translated as 'as concerns'. 'Ka' is sometimes described as a 'written question mark' and is always at the end of a question sentence in Japanese. And 'desu' means 'is, it is, it's' etc.
If all you can say is 'kawaii' or 'desu' or 'arigatou', then you're a weeaboo. And if you put the 'desu' before the 'kawaii'-STOP BUTCHERING THE LANGUAGE.
I play RPG games that were originally from Japan. Am I a weeaboo?
You mean games like Harvest Moon (Note-Natsume owns all rights to Harvest Moon and all games made from it.)? No. I mean, I play Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town, and I am most certainly NOT a weeaboo.
Who invented the word 'weeaboo'?
An idiot who doesn't know the difference between liking a culture and butchering it to the extent that it isn't recognizable. A retard that thinks it's funny to make fun of people and call them names. A moron that is an 'obvioustroll is obvious' that has nothing better to do with their pathetic life than to troll you about culture.
No. A person with nothing better to do invented 'weeaboo' just for the LULZ.
And that concludes the Know Your Weeaboo guide.

This Rant In A Nutshell
Calling someone a weeaboo is stupid, unless they truly are a weeboo.

Well, as long as no pillow-waifus are involved than you're not a weeaboo. Hell, my brother loves Splatoon manga! Does that make him a weeb? No! So, you're right.

I love anime/manga and I hate weeaboos. Most other anime fans I know hate them too.
Also, the term fujoshi and otaku are frequently misused just like weeaboo and Mary-Sue.

What about manhwa? Its like manga but from korea ^^ I dont know why japanese comics got so famous, the koreans are just as good.. Im kinda glad that I was born asian, People dont call me a weeaboo. I live in sweden and many people think im japanese just because they dont know how to see a different. If white people can explain "why do you like japan and not korea or china?" if they answer a good answer then they are really not a weeaboo but if they say something like "I like japan because they're so nice there!" then we say "Have you ever been in japan or korea?" They just think we asians are just about anime/manga but its not just that. I think people should stop thinking we are "born" awesome, we are normal people, we are all humans. I have a "friend" on my school that goes around thinking i'm awesome because im asian and a cosplayer, she seems to dont understand how it feels for me, she just thinks of me based on my look, not my inside feelings. Its not okey to think of us like items. I dont like weeaboos, they aren't nice but the aren't evil either, they are just stupid to not understand things about this world. I think weeaboos should stop saying "kawaii" and "Im half japanese chan and half korean chan" I will move to korea or japan one day maybe even China or Vietnam, its hard to be a asian in a country with no asians at all (I live in sweden right now), when i was a child people said "ching chong" and stuff like that, its hard to be accepted as a asian here in sweden, this doesn't make me a weeaboo, I'm korean (south), people thought that I was a "wanna be white" for dressing as a "white"?? I dont have the right to dress like a "white" person? People think I've been coloring my hair (its clearly brown not black) but I was born this way, my hair is something people also thinks about, in east asia i would be more accepted. I wouldn't say manga is something you can like, its just a style not a category, in manga there are different category's, so you cant really say you like all manga. (Sorry for the bad grammar and spelling)

Don't worry, I'm Korean and I know how you feel ( Bride of the Water God FTW!). I think manhwa is better than manga in the art department.

I like anime and manga but I'm not a weaboo. Ihate it when weaboos/wapanese diss your for liking English speaking anime <_< They just think their 'cool' because they claim to know everything about Japan from watching anime or reading manga when in fact they are wrong. I am learning about Japan and Seoul,South Korea but not because of anime or Korean pop music. Weaboos/wapanese give decent anime fans or otakus a bad name -_-

People demean eachother as a way of strengthening eachother through conflict, and reminding eachother that there is a norm and to be careful not to overindulge their own deviancy, lest they take it too far and find themselves alienating everyone around them.

I like manga a bit more than most anime these days, but I'm not obsessed with it either. I used to be so obsessed though that someone had to politely point that out. I was such an idiot back then.
I like East Asia in general, but it's still not perfect. East Asia (as well as Canada) are infamous for making up some messed up laws that pass the congress.

I am interested in anime, manga, video games from Japan, cosplay, and anime conventions.
But if I hear someone say "KAWAII DAYSOO NEEEEEH", I'm whipping out my weeaboo beating stick.
I do NOT think Japan is heaven on earth (it seriously isn't), I do NOT spew out severely butchered Japanese words, I do NOT think of Pocky and the like as absolute nectar and ambrosia (it IS very tasty, and I enjoy it a lot, but it's not the loveliest food in existence).
No weeaboo here.

Dude I'm the same way. I like Korean/Japanese music a bit more than most American music, but I can name a ton of American artists I like too. Nobody is a weaboo for liking Japanese or foreign music, more than American...you are only a weaboo however, if you start dissing American music O.o

My sister sounds like you. She just doesn't like American music unless it's Nirvana. She prefers Gazette (sp?). I like Bouno! (sp?) though. That's like the only anime soundtrack that's on my laptop, lol.
I remember when I was twelve, I use to hang out on Neopets telling everyone how much I loved manga. Let's not even go there...e.e
Anyways, thanks for liking my stamp. c:

It's funny, because weeaboo had absolutely nothing to do with the slang it's now become when it was first invented. [link]
I prefer the term Japanophile anyway, and I reserve it for non-Japanese who think Japan is the land of milk and honey. Who, if they knew what it meant, would run everywhere screaming "ζ₯ζ¬δΈηͺ"

I like Japonisme (or something like that.).
And I know what you mean. Japanese are like, super crazy fetish people. o: Not meaning that in a bad way, of course...xD
