A few winks of peace, and unexpected paths crossing!

Author Notes:

- And thus starts Asadi's babysitting saga. Would you believe it if I said the babysitting is actually the least chaotic part of this saga....? But that's all i'll say for now

- Chapter 14 has had the most turbulent production cycle since chapter 11. I'll elaborate on it more down the line, but I similarly had to switch to traditionally drawn pages to combat workstation anxiety. (The Pcaara vs Herself games don't end for a bit, so hang onto your seats!) This entire chapter was sketched and drawn with pencil. I goofed up on the first two pages - which end at the panel when kiba steps on asadi's leg - and used a super soft, thicker pencil. Before switching to mechanical pencil and using the larger one to shade in areas/add line weight. I think it's fun that you can physically see the difference haha the chonky lines aren't my fav, but I love the interactions so they don't bother me too much.

Speaking of Interactions...

- Sammy & Asadi have just been keeping themselves busy for the past couple hours. With Asadi checking in on the kids every now and then. The map she's making is essentially futile, but it helps calm her anxieties a bit haha Although Asadi is based on me, she's not actually that great of an artist. But she isn't bad. I've shown her drawing when she was little before in a Q&A . And I just realized the scene with her and Sammy is very similar to them in that kids sketchdump I did a while ago . What can I say, chilling is just their vibe <3

- Kiba's tryna chill too, yknow... o.o She said "lemme up". Unfortunately she keeps unintentionally triggering Asadi's Pooch-phobia. Just in case it wasnt clear before, while Asadi gets mad uncomfortable around claws and fangs in general, she's particularly afraid of the Poochyena line. Since that's what she had a... run-in with. It's a definite issue considering, well, Kiba. And something they definitely need to discuss in detail....but all in due time.

- Ahh Brendan. Or well, the Birches in general. Brendan only knows that Asadi has a fear of Poochyena, without knowing the full details. But Birch was there for it all, and its the main reason why he instantly went into comfort mode when she wandered into Danny's test all the way back in chapter 1 . So imagining him learning that Asadi's not only fully doing the trainer thing but also has a poochyena of her own now is making my heart soft haha He's such a dad to all of his students, past and present.

- Oh! It's also worth mentioning that Brendan didn't see Kiba in Asadi's gym match with Brawly. He, Danny, and the troupe only showed up for the last part of the match.

- God I know i've said it ad nauseum at this point but I just love this whole arc for Kiba's character. She is someone who is very tough to get a read on, even for herself. And she's got some thick walls that you have to just...very slowly chip away at. I really hope that translates to you all when you read through these pages.

- Uh Ooooohhh, Danny has entered the chat XD Along with some friends we ain't seen in a bit, actually.
