In which we learn something VERY INTERESTING…??

Authors Notes:
Ah YES. The Kiba Lore you’ve all been waiting on OvO Big props to those who were tryna guess at the whole “registered pet” mystery. I had alot of fun sitting on my hands and not responding in any meaningful way. And by alot of fun I mean it was painful ;;u;; But yeah a large part of this whole Slateport arc is dedicated to fleshing out character backgrounds, and tidying up a few motivational loose ends here and there in regards to previous actions. This, of course, meant diving back into Kiba’s “mission” that she seemed to be on back in chapter 4. I can’t say more in detail (hopefully the small flashback will suffice) but for those concerned about Kiba’s reaction to big cities, don’t worry that’s less of a trauma response and more a part of the mission.

That Artist (Cerant) and Smeargle (Dolla) are two random NPC characters that I have now fallen in love with and I am on my knees BEGGING to just have one instance of bg characters staying irrelevant and not becoming favs or people whose lives I want to revisit

Speaking of motivational loose ends...I love the talk that Asadi and Kiba get to have. Kiba is a character that’s very closed off even to me, so being able to get some of her baggage out in the open (even if you guys don’t know exactly the story around it but I will say that nuzleaf should look familiar) was pretty cathartic
