And now for something completely different ;D

Authors Notes:
I mentioned it before, but Leftovers takes place in what’s essentially 2006 (technology wise). So i tried my best to get that grainy early 2000s quality on both the photos Nathan takes and the photobooth shots. It was also very interesting having to remain in a real world context for the first 4 pics. For instance, in the shot of Miki and Ayden celebrating their victory, i’d usually use a super cute patterned bg. But that’s not what the camera sees here, so battlefield bg it is ;;u;;

Team Asadi isn’t the only one getting some deeper development this arc. Though we’ve already gotten quite a few glimpses at different aspects of the kids (and their teams) in the past couple chapters. But I had alot of fun hinting at some important stuff here. Like Nathan’s love of photography, Mikael’s genuine love of battling, and most importantly: Solana’s famous grannan/ plans to participate in contests!

Cameo Call!:
- First up during the photo montage are the best brothers this side of Johto, Corey and Ty! (who belong to
I’ve been waiting to talk about them because hilariously enough I had not started Soul Brothers when this page was sketched. So when I went back to lineart/color with newfound knowledge of Corey and Ty’s adventures, I discovered two things:
1. Those two totally would have won this battle, actually LOL (sorry Miki, baby)
2. I 100% did not intend for this, but Miki and Ayden’s relationship is very similar to Corey and Ty’s (in that they consider each other family rather than trainer/starter) so this ended up being a battle of brothers!

- Next, watching and waiting for their turn from the benches are ‘s children Scarlet and Sheldon! I wonder what sort of strategies they’re discussing...OvO

I hope you all enjoyed this wholesome break as much as I did. God I just...really needed it after the start this chapter had LOL I can always count on my children to bring some light into my life. Well-- the ones that aren’t fighting anyway… Next week’s page though? Now, that’s one i’m very curious to see the response to….
