I took great joy in making the table spread, and if you look closely enough at the tan gourd you can see the label for a brand called Spindaround. A brand of sake where Spinda is the mascot. a.k.a “Steven you’ve got to sip that!”
I love that little panel of lonan behind steven. By page 2, I’d started making the scenes behind characters grayscale with a little pop of color instead of just grayscale and i’ve been a happier man since
Speaking of! I was waiting for a long time to get Norman’s thoughts out about what happened in chapter 3 and before! I was gonna save this bit of insight for the last page, but I couldn’t wait to really humanize the higher up figures in the league all throughout this chapter. And I think this is a shining example of that (well this and his nerves in the last page).
Oh hey, who would’ve thunk, Mitsuki is actually Norman’s wife and May’s mom! I don’t think i’ll be able to put much focus on it too soon, but she is also a trainer. Infact, the slaking from before was solely hers before she and Norman started their family.
Once again Sidney and Phoebe’s relationship continues to make my heart flutter. They’re the cousins that are always up to no good at the cookout.
Lady has such an interesting dynamic with every member of the league, and I hope I was able to show how different the interactions are in this chapter (and I hope to get to show it more in the future).
Ya’ll laughing, but Steven’s really about to go upstairs and get mauled.
