Description

The final Evangelion of the AX series, the Eta unit was both the easiest and most controversial one to make. As Bardiel’s original fungus-like spores had since adapted to the Adam form of an Evangelion, adapting this Angel’s soul to a new unit took little time. With the fact that another pilot was critically injured in the initial conflict with Bardiel, as well as the fact that the commissioners of this unit were the very same as those in charge of the AX-α project at Bethany Base, there was considerable debate on whether or not this project should continue. It had been reported that Colonel Noskov had had difficulties dominating this Angel as it would frequently generate its extra arms and attack its surroundings. Fail-safes had been installed to sever the extra arms, causing pain to the pilot (but more to the Eva), allowing trials to begin anew. Unfortunately, trials continued for a short time before the Near-Third Impact was initiated in Tokyo-3 in 2018.
