This is still a common mistake among the HTF fans. People think Flaky is a hedgehog despite the lack of pointy ears, short quills, and hedgehog-like face. It states on the character page of Flaky that she is a porcupine. Don't do that "well porcupines have tails" excuse because Mime doesn't have a deer tail, Giggles doesn't have a chipmunk tail, Lumpy doesn't have a moose tail, Lammy doesn't have a sheep tail, etc. Handy and Petunia are two characters with tails, but not all of the tree friends have them -most likely because adding tails to all of them would cause animation issues.

Porcupines and hedgehogs look totally different. One's small, with triangle ears, pointy snouts, short quills, and a tiny tail. The other's larger, long quilled, has a quill-covered tail, long claws, and tiny small ears. Telling these two apart should be easy as pie!
It probably doesn't help that people online mistake hedgehogs for porcupines, but honestly those people are incorrect just like the one's saying that Flaky is a hedgehog. She is not a hedgehog, and drawing her with hedgehog ears is incorrect.
