Description So back before I had to take some time off and when he was still on his old profile, tagged me for another eight facts, this time about Clarissa, and now here they are.

Additional facts about the facts:

While Archaeology is part of the Anthropology department, it is located in it's own facility, the imaginatively named "Archaeology Research Facility" or ARF for short. This doesn't look nice on stationary.

Habakkuk Bowditch was a real person in pre-revolution Massachusetts; a guy with the same name as me married his daughter. (I found this out by searching for my name in a genealogy database over a decade ago, I guess it's a memorable name. )

It's not really a coincidence, I needed a name and Clarissa happened to be at eye level, and worked well with the character I'd drawn. She's pretty much nothing like the character in the book, though.

You can't buy a Defender in the US, they don't meet NTSB safety requirements. You can import one for personal use though, and there's an exemption for vehicles over a certain age.

I didn't know Playarchaeologist was prestigious...

Playarchaeologist is a thoroughly scholarly publication, or at least that's what we've managed to convince the department librarian.

Yup, well any number really, although Miyuki is the remaining principal character. I may have to do one just out of completeness sake, but I was tagged for these two first.

This reminds me I did promise someone I would post my sketches of other supporting ninja characters, (of whom only one has actually appeared so far).

for some reason that name Bowditch sticks with me, it just sounds so cool. Also, chokers are damn sexy, and I wish the ladies still wore them

Back when we found the genealogy with Habakkuk Bowditch in it I lived in a dorm at the corner of Durant and Bowditch streets, which made it funnier to us that it should have been (also Habakkuk is one of those Krusty the Klown Komedy words that sound dirty but aren't really).

The street was named for Nathaniel Bowditch, the father of modern maritime navigation, who may in fact have been related to Habakkuk through a son or sibling; they were both from Massachusetts, and I don't know how common a name it is.

Chokers seem to come back every now and again, but I figure she has a unique sense of style (so she can wear whatever I happen to think looks good ).

Huh... interesting that she doesn't tan at all... and that it's a quirk that goes back a few generations... I get the feeling that wihle she may not bea vampire, she might not be entirely normal either...
