My entry for Father's Day contest.I wanted to present Midori-chan during her formative years, the ones that prove insanity is hereditary. And needless to say there's no one in Konoha trapped in his own special madness than Maito Gai. I just picture that if Gai was someone's dad these are the kind of things he'd do. Midori is the little gift I decided to give him.
Gai: I give you the best view of the Festival.
Midori: You're the greatest, Daddy!
Gai: Where do you wish to go?
Midori: Goldfish! Goldfish!
Gai: Then we shall youthfully scoop ourselves some fish! *Flashes winning smile*
Midori: *laughs delightly*
There are some extra 'familiar characters' in the crowd, because it wouldn't be a festival if there weren't others around to enjoy it.
I think I shall also mention that this will be first in a series of 'Views from a Festival' in which I will attempt several moments from one festival that interconnect.

Thanks! I think Gai could be fun, but I suspect narrow focus. I refer to Midori as a 'little green monkey' at times. (She's small for her age and loves to climb on things.)

Well, your experiment succeeded. The composition and Gai using the tight rope with his daughter gives this piece a happy and festivefeel to it!

Midori's mom, well that is an upcoming explanation...it's sort of a crack moment but I can blame it on another of my Next Gen characters. Let's just say Midori has some half-siblings...

I just wanted to do a character I hadn't done before, and this was in the back of my mind so it became the 'must do' piece. I almost makes me want to explore Gai and Midori's adventures a little more.

I really think it needed the others to look like a Festival. The perspective was a pain, but I keep telling myself I've got to re-build my skills.
