FanFic Illustration to INVICTUS by Chthonia, chapter 8- and the closest I’m going to go to something like Lucius/Hermione. If you’ve moral objections against it, you just should know that I’ve too! But I’ve noticed, that all my favourite fics have one thing in common: They always contain something I can’t stand. That’s probably why they are so good: They convince me – against my will.
Anyway, it isn’t supposed to be Lucius/Hermione, it’s more something like an illusion. Months ago, Lucius had abducted Hermione for an experiment, sort of. This scene is after he has done some horrible dark magic with her and now she really can’t walk anymore, therefore he has to carry her. Hermione has the feeling that he is worried, but later she thinks that she just imagined it, when she was only half-conscious. Maybe she couldn't bear the tought that someone could be that cruel like him. Or maybe, he has become a bit too fond of his "guinea pig", because Hermione doesn't react like he's thought.

Dunno if I like it ... I've read a couple of fics and found another L/Hr fic that I liked, but other than that ... it is and stays a disturbing ship. But that's exactly why it makes these few fics awesome. I mean, everyone can write a ship in which both characters involved are perfect for each other. On a second thought, NO! Not everyone can write that

Be warned tough, the fic is a WIP, but it is good to know, that it is NOT abandoned. It gets update all 1 to 1.5 years ... since a long time. I've read this fic 2005 for the first tim. It was started - I believe - in 2003. It has 18 chapters by now.
Since it is the very best fic I've ever read, it's worth the slow updates. Actually, I'd wait 10 years if I have to. It's that good!

I really like this picture as well.
I think one of the reasons people, at least for me, like it so much is the emotion thats in it, whether intentionally put there or not. I happen to rather like lumione, but because of who it envolves I hate mushy fluffy fics.
This picture shows some of the disgust I enjoy. I love Lucius the civilized bastard.

About Lumione: I only like it because of Invictus, which I hope you know - it's the best fic ever! I wouldn't have thought it possible to ever find another fic that convinced me of that ship, but actually I have found something else: [link] . It's not dark, but the political background and the scheming Narcissa are interesting and make L/Hr believable. Narcissa's really very cool! I so like the idea of her wanting a divorce but insisting on Lucius beeing the guilty one. And therefore she comes up with a plan to get him unfaithful

Okay I read them both, and I have to tell you, I loved them both. I'm a dark and light fan. It all depends on my mood, though admittedly, the untitled piece is much more my style. Fantastic though, It brought on a bit of fanart in me. Now to just locate a scanner. o.O;

Um ... people really seem to like that particular picture, since I still get comments for it, after all these years. I wonder why? I mean, I like to get comments, but I don't think that this drawing is that good. Or is it simply the subject, Lucius carrying Hermione? I think it is a great deal to do with the subject matter. Personally, I stand by classic response when someone questions their artistic skills, "Better than I can do = impressive"
Invictus is REALLY good story and after you read it you want more, and thus search through the deviant archives in hopes of finding some fanart. I do think that yours is top notch. But if you want to remake the picture, that'll be great for all us fangirls wandering the site in hopes of more.

I didn't want to question my artistic skills in general, since this is really a bad thing to do and anyway, it feels like fishing for compliments. I was more questioning my first attempt at Lucius, also, since I always need several attempts to get a character right.
Self-pimping feels totally bad, but I hope that you've seen my illustration for chapter 17, since this is more or less the best I can do these days [link]

not a fan of the ship, but this picture is really, really pretty. the shades of blue, and hermione's hair...it's just really lovely.

All people say that... but really, you don't have to like the ship. You have to like the fic! Under the influence of Invictus, I tried to read a real HG/LM fic once, but merely remembered why I couldn't stand the ship in first time. Invictus isn't really HG/LM, their just the main characters in a small dark room where their completely different views crash together. It's a very deep fic, that is likely to make you re-think your own ethics. It's scary and still so intriguing.

I've just re-read my comment ... and it's not accurate anymore. There is unresolved sexual tension between L and Hr (which L often uses to torment Hr). Eventually it escalates in chapter 17, which was written after my comment. But I enjoyed chapter 17, to my uttermost horror
Oh yeah ... important warning: it's a WIP. The author updates very fast, if she writes more than a chapter a year ... if you want to re-assure you from time to time that she is still alive, here is her LJ: [link]

oh my gosh I'm reading Invictus right now (I'm up to chapter 8, actually) it inspired me to go and search for some Kickass art with the two of them at least in the same room. I saw this and i was like "Oh kick ass it reminds me of...ooooh." XD

Did you find more art for that fic than my old photoshop+mouse-drawing? Because if yes, I'd really like to see them. I'm not sure if I like my own drawing... I mean it's OK since it's old and it was rather good back when I've done it. Sometimes I wonder if I should try again. But for that I'd need inspiration like another new chapter... stupid Chthnoya, stopping when it becomes really interesting (OK, sorry, she's i.n.g.e.n.i.o.u.s.!) I'm not sure if I've ever read a more wrapped story. There are not many books that make me consider my own ethics....

Its really an amazing story. It is so enthralling and I just cant get enough. Its so sadistic and just amazing but alas, no I haven't seen any other art for it. Either they are making out or not interacting in all the art i've seen thus far.

I'm from Switzerland and I didn't really learn English at school. I've learned in the internet because of such posts... there is no need to excuse bad English when you're learning a language! Just wanted to tell you this, even though I sometimes have to fight myself to not excuse my English, when I write to people with a beautiful wording.
About the pairing... don't say anything about it before you've read the fic! I know what you mean: I've read the fic with the cursor on the little red cross, ready to stop reading at any time. But I've read the whole thing in one night and was simply amazed. It's not a love story. It's about two character with opposite world views. And while the story goes on, they drive each other to the limits of their own beliefs. You're stuck into Hermione's head who thinks like you and then the author dives just down into it and you follow her wrapped line of thought until you realize, that that what you believe in is really just a dogma. She made me question some of my own beliefs...
But there is definitely some sexual innuendo between Hermione and Lucius and they author may not feel contrary to bring them together in the end (but she hasn't yet, it's a WIP).

I don't like the ship either! It's the fic, it's everything about this fic....... there are fics, in which your preferences of ships or plots don't matter, because the author convinces you with the writing. But these fics are very, very, very rare......

I've recently put the last few songs on a fan mix for Hermione and Lucius, and need artwork for the cover. Your artwork is lovely, and frankly the only one I've found that I could Use. I Would of course, credit both you and the fic that you are "pimping". Unfortunately, I don't know any other artists for that specific pairing. It's rare after all, and the most things I see with Lucius are... well, rather disgusting.
If you want, I can try another one for your cover. This drawing is rather old and I think I could draw both better by now, altough I've still huge difficulties with Lucius. But "teamwork" would be fun

The story that you mentioned that was the inspiration for the pic, I would love a link to it... I love reading Harry Potter FanFiction and any and all 'good' stories are what I look for... Great picture by the way too.
