Description Gremlins are solitary semi-aquatic organisms that live in underground burrows near rivers, streams, or lakes. They feed off of hemophyta spiral roots and other subterranean life they can get a hold of. They are descendants from the class carcharostoma which is an offshoot of the more prevalent class of branchiophora. They lack a dorsal sail which allows them to occupy particular land niches better than some branchiophores. This carcharostoma has modified its mandibles for digging, having a strong keratin matrix to reinforce them. Like many earth rodents these keratin teeth are always growing and instead of wearing them down which could structurally compromise them, Gremlins periodically shed keratin beak shells off of their mandibles. These sheddings can act as protection against predators as they would line the entrance to their nest with these sharp beak sheddings. The skin of the gremlin is infused with keratin fibers, but occurring subdermal.
