Description
So here you have it! Over 5 m at the shoulder and just about 10 m head to tail. It would weight around 35 tons. This boy was the biggest kid on the playground, I tell you!
I probably let the doubletrunk grow in size, what do you think?
[link]
Yeah. I did, and I like this behemoth far better now.
It was a nice "steroid treatment" all right! Extra 1.5 m in height and 3 m in length in comparison with the previous version!

Thank you very much! It wouldn't be as easy if there were no people like you! Knowing that you guys are interested in is a great boost for me! I doubt I could keep on going without any feedback.

Haha... Yeah I know...
But I was like "hell this is awesome!" when I got that idea. It was only later shown to me that I wasn't the only one who had this "ligtbulb" moment
I guess great minds think alike...

There were a few, but I don't know if I can gather all the links.Β¨Nemo Ramjet made "doubletrunk" brachiosaurs just for fun, to show what could be anchored to the arched skull, and there are at least two other alien designs like that, but they are far more elephant-like in the head area, because i knew of the resemblance of my first version to those concepts, I had to "brainstorm" something to keep the idea in a different overall "design" and this is what I came up with
I'll send the links here if I find them so you can have a look

Yeah! Megafauna all the way! But hey! This wouldn't be "that" big if it was a dinosaur!
Still,I needed something that'd make the possible human "conquerors" feel small!
But that's just a tiny bit of the megafauna I'm planning Many animals will have shoulder height of at least 2.5 m (even though there'll be small animals as well)
There'll be quite a number of (predatory) flyers with wingspans around 3-5 m and a few albatross- and condor/vulture-like flyers with wingspans exceeding 7 m. That's huge, but still within the plausible range. Bigger land animals mean bigger flying animals to feed on them, right? I keep the dimensions of recent and extinct earth animals in mind to stay within a "reasonable" range, but even this "burden of plausibility" allows HUGE stuff!

Here is basically an outline with the most important details, but I'll draw more detailed drawings of the animals when I dry out of ideas for new creatures.

I told you... You couldn't spread your legs far enough, even around its neck, and kneeling on its back would be pretty dangerous.

Yeah, I think it's back would be broad enough for you to lay there, but it'd have to be a tamed individual. I doubt you'd be bigger discomfort for it than a pigeon would be for a rhinoceros...

I admit it's one of my personal favourities either, But I >>really<< started to like it when this sketch was done
The first version looked too much like an elephant, and the second "head only" sketch had "tentacles" and not "trunks", and, let's face it, given my general lack of skill in name-giving, i really liked the name, so i didn't want to change it, but I didn't know how to solve it, nor did I knew how to draw a decent body for it.

Think about their key features and translate them to greek/latin on google translator!
Like this fella - Generic name: two tunks (proboscies) - Diprobosciscus; and now the specific name: huge, giant, enormous - gigas, titanicus, ingens; elephantine - elephas; ruling/king/emperor - imperator, rex... "foot of an emperor" - "archepus" "god of the land" - "terradeus"
Latin names are actually simpler than english ones, at least for me. You just need to make it fun for you and it'll work!

I'll have to take a crack at something with multiple legs like this, trying to work out the third set of shoulders/hips tends to tie my brain in knots

Yes. I felt that four legs would force me to do animals with too mammalian/reptilian body plans, and an extra pair of limbs creates more room for "alien" possibilities. It's common that different pairs of limbs fill different functions or have a different shape, and with six legs, there is many more possibilities to play around with thn with just four.
