I was thinking about it as of snake's tongue, but I am still not sure if this is the final shape of the organ or whether all terrestrial animals will have it, probably not... Like I said, I'm not sure about anything now.

Those creatures are really cool! For some reason, they remind me of Ambulocetus. Maybe they could be an early form of a whale-like alien.

does it? I was thinking of these as of very small critters, the legs are just quicklythrown in place, I don't even know what their tails should look like yet... So many uncertainties!

looking at the legs i would say these guys either walk along the river bed or live on the banks of rivers and in swamps and bayous am i right? any way looks awesome!

Well, this body plan would belong to most of the salamander/lizard analogues, that kind of implies where you could find them.
