Description I'm not sure how I feel about the overall image here, I just wanted to share one of the most spectacular things I have seen take place in nature. This is an image from my trip to Yellowstone last year and I have been very hesitant in doing anything special with it other than look at it. I decided to process it and see what happened. This image is cropped about 60% as this scene took place fairly far from us. We were watching an osprey fishing on the yellowstone river when all of a sudden it disappears. Within seconds we heard loud shrieking sounds knowing it had to be some kind of animal headed our way. I looked up and couldn't believe what I was watching. A peregrine falcon was trying to steal the fish from the osprey. It lasted only five seconds and I managed to fire off about 5 frames. Both had disappeared after the osprey had become the victor keeping claim to it's prize. I went to review the images from the lcd on my camera to see what I had captured and all of them except for this were blurry. I should also mention it was raining during this whole ordeal and my camera was getting soaked. Another minute went by when I heard the noise again, this time it was the peregrine all by itself darting by me. I was able to fire off two shots of the bird (which I may post in the future). For those that don't know, peregrine falcons are the fastest animal on earth and have been recorded at speeds well over 200mph. I consider myself to be extremely lucky to experience what I did of something truly wild in the wildest place I know so far. It was one of those true right there right time scenarios. I just wish I could have gotten maybe a closer shot. We saw a similar situation unfold between a bald eagle and a red tailed hawk while not nearly as close. Comments are greatly appreciated.

Oooh! Right in the old bread-basket!
Sounds like the osprey gave that thieving falcon a right good hiding, though!
