Description
After a magical moment at cape royal in the morning, we headed to our final spot of the trip which was point sublime. Apparently, the quicker route to get here was in the worst shape it's been in for quite some time, so we had to take the alternate route. I'm not sure how bad the original route was, but the route we took was pretty rough on my 2 wheel drive vehicle (Gotta get a 4x4 now). After almost two hours and being stopped by rangers on the way we finally arrived at our campsite. After setting up camp we all headed out to the point with a few hours to spare. We were surprised to find a few others at the point, but nothing that would take away from the beauty and experience unlike the south rim where your shoulder to shoulder at most view points. The clouds were moving extremely fast, and we were worried we wouldn't have many clouds at sunset, but since we had internet access we checked our phones and the weather data and found a storm was heading northeast. That would put some clouds in front of us for sure and the western horizon would remain clear. Finally, the clouds emerged and the sun was low enough to shoot. When the sun finally hit the horizon, the sky lit up like a kaleidoscope of color which reflected onto the canyon walls. We even had the foot of a rainbow appear on the horizon (you can see it here although it is faint). The light lasted for another hour as we all were content on this magnificent sunset. We returned back to camp, ate, charged batteries, and then my friend and I returned to the point for some night photography which you may see in the near future.Point sublime- Grand Canyon.

That sure looks like where I was when I went to the Canyon. It's just so enormous
that it's hard to fathom that I was only at a small part of it! I loved it there!

The canyon is extremely large. It's really hard to get a sense of scale in photos, because you wouldn't be able to see a person or animal standing on those ridges.Β

That is so true! Guess that's why it's considered one of the Seven
Wonders of the World I believe! "Grand" is so fitting!

You're right: colours, here, are sublime. They're bright and lively, the purple in that cold shade of the late afternoon. Beautiful.

i've visited Grand Canyon altogether four times, never did yield any photos that were worthy of sharing, granted that was prior to my new-found interest in photography, still...i know i could never produce an awesome shot such as this one. thanks so much for sharing it with us.

Thank you! I'm sure you could get something just as spectacular. It's mostly just being at the right place at the right time, and then executing your techniques.
