You are surely talking about Windows XP. Open the logonui.exe with reshacker and replace the bitmaps 113 and 119 with a 32 bit bmp of your choice, Check that it has the same size.
Thanx for your compliment.

I've downloaded and tried it meanwhile. Works without any problem on my machine. This logon was downloaded more than 400 000 times in different variations meanwhile, without any bug report. So i have no clue what's going wrong on your system. I'm afraid i cannot help you.

I'm pretty sure you have used the wrong file type. The logon cannot find your images. Be sure you use 32bit bitmaps. They must have an alpha channel wether they have transparency or not. Nothing else works.Check the properties of your files, if they are 32 bit or not. if it is still not working, give me the userpictures you wanna use, and i will do it for you.

oooh that's exactly the problem that happens to me, to edit the pictures saved in 24 bit and I do not option to change to 32 bit ... how I can make this change?

thanks for the help

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PeterRollar In reply to rubenhumar [2012-07-13 07:29:27 +0000 UTC]

It is not possible with MS Paint. If you use Photoshop or the GIMP look for an option named "Layer" Select "Add transparency". Than you can save it as 32 bit bmp.

What the official directions to install this? I used the directions posted on another version of this, but when I did I couldn't log in at all and had to use my Win7 install disc to repair the startup files.

I REALLY like the look of this, and would love for it to work, but I just need the proper install instructions.

Thanks.

I can't seem to get it to work with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit. It's a fresh install and I updated everything and when I change the file properly using Take Ownership and I restart my system it doesn't load the log on screen. It works perfectly with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit but no here.

PeterRollar In reply to r-master95 [2012-01-05 20:17:51 +0000 UTC]

You are the first who faces a problem with this. Let's see if we can solve it.Open your controlpanel, look for system and click on it. Please look in the properties if it is updated to SP1.
If yes, what kind of message appears instead of the logonscreen?

It say Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1... 32 bit. I'm going to install it again so I can show you the message I get.

I'm working on it. May last til tomorrow. I'm only wondering why it works for me and not for you.The screenshots above are taken from my 32bit system. Crazy Windows.I will inform you when it is finished.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

r-master95 In reply to PeterRollar [2012-01-06 22:39:40 +0000 UTC]

Also it's the authui.dll that doesn't work. I don't get a message just a blank black screen and nothing loads so I then have to turn it off.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PeterRollar In reply to r-master95 [2012-01-06 23:02:03 +0000 UTC]

It's clear that it is the authui.dll which doesn't work for you. The basebrand.dll only changes the version info. It makes me sad that you are running in such problems.
I try to make a complete workover of the file til tomorrow.I gonna tell you when it is finished.Basically the 64 bit files are the same as the 32 bit files. So it is hard to understand why one is working for you and another not.Hopefully we can solve it.
Please only try it if you know how to make a systemrestore. I don't wanna mess up your computer again.
