Description
Finished at 's workshop last weekend. It was great fun, as always, and this time I got to try out coffee. Which was great fun.Edit: reuploaded, this time scanned. Thanks to everyone who reassured me that coffee-paintings don't kill scanners!

I already told you how much I liked it.
You realy have a talent for creating pensive moods. The coffee does a great job here!

Thank you very much! Coffee was great for the scene - need to find more ideas to use with coffee

I love the warm color - it sets the atmosphere perfectly!

Yay for coffee! It was hard to get the -right- warm tone out of the scanner, though. I hope I didn't over-tweak it when I got rid of the slightly greyish film the scanner imagined to be there!

It's actual coffe (though not drinkable one, it's instant coffee in very high concentration for the darker parts).

This one is amazing. I'm always fascinated by how many different shades you can put in a picture. There are very light and very dark areas in the picture, but you also used the possible tones in between quite perfectly.
I think the color of the coffee fits the mood of the picture really well.
I wouldn't worry about scanning the picture, I also didn't have any problems with my coffee-picture.

Thank you so much! I find I like working in monochrome, though I like colour too - and with colour I seem to loose my ability to see light and dark O.o So it's monochrome for a while now!

My scanner had no problem with my coffee picture... (and this was sticky)
The scanner did not harm the coffee and well... the coffee stayed on the paper (there was no reason to clean the scanner afterwards)
At least in my case...
But the lady at the window... this is beautyfull

Great work on the coffee monochrome! Spot on figure and a very effective use of the light...considering the medium used this is very impressive, well done!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it. Hopefully I can repeat it, otherwise it was beginner's luck (this was my first ever try at it, and I'm pleasantly surprised by how cooperative the medium turned out to be!).

Maybe some kind of foil would prevent the painting from staining your scanner? Even though I suppose it wouldn’t even stain it. My coffee thingy doesn’t even stain my hands .
I’m so glad I have seen this wonder in the original, photos are simply too blurry to do any painting justice (I hate how photos always leave a grey, blurry glaze over paintings), and I guess even scanning won’t preserve the coffee’s shining glory.

Hopefully it won't! It didn't stick to other papers in the batch, even though they were in my bag and were pressed together to fit under the seats on the train.
And I know! No matter what I do to the white-balance it turns out odd. Sooo unfair. (And it's a pity you can't put it on the wall. I love the kind of varnished surface it gets! A bit like watercolour tempera.)

Dito. Coffee is obviously the medium of choice if you want to have fun and play like a child, but not for art to show off with…

True! Such a pity. Unless you make a print of it, obviously, but originals -are- more fun.

Underbart ljus!

Beautiful vermeerian design, as I told you. I would not worry about scanning it, just try it, I didn't have any problems.

I think that anything sticky should be kept well away from scanners you care about.
... but oooh. how pretty! Awesome light.
