[Whoa. He's scary. But he's actually a coward in the game, from what I read on the wiki. XD it said "His only weakspot is his yellow belly, which is ironic, because he's a coward." LMAO]

Isn't it a she? I thought it looked like a mother of some kind, protecting some young evirs at the beginning of the fight. Scary for sure though, easily one of the series' best and most intimidating designs!
Huh, never really got that from the game, Draygon was always one of the more intense bosses in the game, despite being able to be beaten so easily using the grapple beam. Interesting tidbit though, had never heard of that!

[No. Draygon's not a female. On the wiki, it specifically said 'he'.
And when I played the game, I actually unknowingly pro-dodged all of Draygon's attacks and utterly totaled him with only projectile-based weapons.] o_o

DOn't know what wiki you're looking at, but I've really only seen Draygon referred to as an 'it' or just 'The Draygon'. Regardless, its seems like a parent or protector of those evir creatures.
I just prefer the grapple method, takes care of the fight in matter of 20 seconds or so.Β

On my first playthrough, I beat it "the hard way" because I didn't knew the trick... man, I sweared at this beast. Is it just me or his attack when he grabs you... well, I feel like he's trying to rape Samus... (notice how the tail moves and where it hits on Samus...) plus with the white goo... each time he would grab me I would just felt humiliated... and he hurts a lot too XD

Makes for a good riveting game experience though. I think Nintendo's and most games in general have gotten too kid-friendly, not only in their content, but in the gameplay department as well.

I could not say that about GTA 5...
It is true that A lot of Nintendo games are Kid-friendly... well, they know their audience and they know that kids play gamesΒ these daysΒ . What is Mario was violent and gore? A lot less people would have played it (I definitiely would have not played mario if there was blood (my parents would have not let me played those games either XD)).Β Though it is why I love Metroid: it's "serious" and the fighting/story/character is credible and the monsters you are fighting are very scary and the sound they make are terrifying (I remember in Super Metroid each time I would hit a boss I would feel the pain they had and the feeling I'm really killing a beast). That might be one reason why Metroid does not get the attention it deserves... though I think people in general prefer fantasy to Sci-fi

I said MOST, haha.
Yeah, I don't want Nintendo to make their kid-friendly series adult or anything, just leave the more mature series alone and keep their mature look and themes. Metroid's more mature nature is exactly the reason that it isn't as popular, but still...don't mess with it.
The gameplay department is what bugs me a hell of a lot more though nowadays. In Super Metroid, you're thrown into a gigantic environment without any kind of instruction. If you use your intellect, you can find your way through the labyrinthine planet.
I feel that if Super Metroid were made now, it would have some kind of GPS leading you to each new important item and where to go with them...etc, like the way Zero Mission was set up. And of course, all of the boss battles would be laden with quick-time events and overly long unskippable cutscenes.

I have to admit that the "hints" to where the next item is is really annoying... (it's there in Metroid Prime and Prime 2: echoes. In Prime 3: corruption, since you can change planet with your ship (it's sort of like the elevator but every landing pad can lead to any other landing pad, like if any elevator could bring you to any other elevator room.) at some point, you are just being told that there's an item of interest "somewhere you've been before", so like that you are not completely lost and you are not just given the exact location.) But I get what you mean. I'll be honest here, I have not beaten the first Metroid game without checking a map on the internet (I tried to beat the game without looking but I would just get lost and discouraged...)
In Super Metroid, you don't really need to know where to go because the level is designed in such a way that you are forced to get where you are suppose to go. And that's just the beauty of the game.

Yep, that's what makes Super Metroid the best designed game of all time, imo. The first one is admittedly too cryptic for my tastes, but Super is just the right amount of uncertainty that makes it challenging without being too difficult.

Draygon would have beaten Samus, if she/he (I have no clue what it's gender is) hadn't attacked quick and hard, and instead attacked mid-fast and harder. Still, great job on this!

Not sure about that, but I'm sure Draygon would've had an easier time if he/she didn't decorate the place with electricity turrets.

hm, now that I think about it, your right, Draygon shouldn't haveΒ put so manyΒ electricity turrets everywhere. thanks for the advice, when I revive Draygon, I'll make sure he/she doesn't put a hoard load of electricity turrets in the area where he/she will fight Samus again.

This is bad ass. It almost directly reminded me of the battle with the Alpha Blogg, because of the murky water. I like the upward looking perspective and the overall style, which to me, is very reminiscent of the official Super Metroid artwork.

Of the four main bosses, Draygon was definitely the most hidden.

One word: Incoming!! Amazing job on this! Draygon is one of my fav bosses
, just give me ten to fifteen minutes, a grapple beam, and a wrecked turret to turn this thing into a sea buffet :3 I really hate that sticky stuff, but that's just a decoy
Awesome job!

Assuming you have enough health blocks to pull it off, I always ignore all of the projectiles and tail thrashings, and get right to frying him.

One of them, for sure. Probably my favorite design of the four guardians in Super Metroid.
Yeah, love the ingenuity of that game, I still don't think it will ever be surpassed.
